Scott Digital 01-29-2008, 07:39 AM I have been driving a 2.0 petrol, 2.0 liter Diesel, and I had the pleasure of driving a 3.0TT for a week. It is a nice car, but I personally think you guys are making way too much out of it. The car is old over here in Europe. The Nav. system is nice, and works very well, I like the I-Drive system as well, but much less options then the 3er or 5er, it does not have haptic feedback either. The car's suspension is way too soft, and it rolls squats and dives wayyyy too much. Most likely just simple coilover jobbie. The steering is well balanced, but coming from a BMW M coupe, it feels heavy the car not the steering balance, a tad bit slower in the seat of pants dyno, even if it may be similar in performance. What I did like, coming from a 1999 M coupe, are all the modern amenities, in a car that is reasonable quick. I loved the navigation, especially on the Nurburgring, it helped navigate very well around a track that is long and helped me anticipate up to 1 mile ahead. The steering wheel is nice and fat, the sound system is very nice, very crisp, much better then my 1999 harmon kardon garbage system. But if you are looking for a truly drivers car, look elseware. If you have ever had the pleasere of driving an E30M, or even an E36 M for that matter, you will feel like an alien in this car. I like modern cars, I am not one of those GOOD OLD DAY guys, that thought all things were better in the past. I seriously considered this car for a while, but maxxed out with navi, leather, then having to add coil- overs, it is a little too high in price for a "entry level car" With all that said the car is HOT, but that coupe version looks very weird and out of proportion, in fact there is a 3 door hatch sitting out in the parking lot noe, and that looks SEXXXX, much better balanced. OK, just opinions taiheung 01-29-2008, 06:08 PM A 135i hatch would dominate with its 100kg weight saving! Scott Digital 01-29-2008, 07:20 PM The question is.......... Is it worth selling my M Coupe for a newer car....... the 1 Series??? That is what I have to figure out. JPStrniste 01-29-2008, 09:11 PM looks like a modern e30. kinda cool. can't wait till they come out to the dealers though. Being 6'6", I'm not sure if I'll fit. They look considerably smaller than the newer 3 series. I just fit in my e30. mose121 02-03-2008, 11:45 PM My dealer said they are expecting a couple by the end of the month.
