My 2004 starts on one turn sometimes and sometimes I have to try for 15-30 seconds to get it going. A few weeks ago it wouldn't start after several minutes, but it started on one turn the following day. My mechanic had it for a day and found nothing wrong. It happened once since then and now it's working fine. Should I buy an ignition system to have on hand or find another mechanic?

1)check the battery to ensure enough cca's are being run to the car for start
2)check ignition system to ensure no worn starter.

The entire charging system is brand new, the starter checked out fine, and the ignition system worked great while in the hands of the mechanic.
Thanks for the feedback

My 2005 is sometimes difficult to start after sitting for several days. I only use the car occasionally and sometimes when starting I have to crank a second time as the first time it refuses to catch. It always cranks right over on the second attempt though. I think in the manual it says not to crank it for more than 20(?) seconds?
Nowhere near as bad as your situation, OP, but some similarity. I will get the battery checked, but it seems strange that it would be already having problems as the car is not even 3 years old yet and lightly driven.
