No, it is sports package, 6 speed manual tranny means sports package, black trim not available in 97.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the "sport" package was introduced in 1998...having a 6sp doesn't mean it's sport...just means it's a 6sp.

Not trying to bash your thread or your car, I think it's an amazing looking car, and as an owner of a 97 540i, I am just more curious than anything else.

Please note sport calibrated suspension on sticker. 17" wheels, 6 speed, sport suspension, I think that is what makes it the sport? Maybe I am wrong.

Recent maint. - about a year and a half ago I had water pump,radiator, thermostat, rear wheel bearings, rear brakes all replaced. oil changed with mobil-one every 5k.
