A lot of work has been done do this car - should be problem free for quite some time.

This is a 99 540/6 speed sport with 94k. Silver over black leather. It has the premium and cold weather packages. It also has Xenon’s. This is my 3rd 540/6 and it is certainly the strongest one I have ever had.

In the last 5k miles, I have installed new 02, sensors, speed sensors brake pads and rotors, a radiator, all new coolant hoses, two motor mounts, control arm bushings, mass air flow meter (wow what difference), new plugs and wires.

The water pump was done at 83k
The instrument cluster was done at 66k
The clutch was done under warranty at 50k

Many of the typical E39 issues have been addressed.

Mods –
7k miles ago I added.
ASA AR1 wheels 18x9 all around with Kuhmo MX’s.
Clear 01 e39 style side markers and taillights.
00 M5 clear head light lenses
A B&M short shifter – LOVE IT!

It also has the ice-link Ipod adapter.

Some normal wear and tear, but overall it looks fairly clean and shows well.

I have all the key, books and a lot of records from the car.

I only have the one picture which was taken right when the wheels were put on and before I put the clear lights in. I will be taking some more soon. I do have a link to some photo’s from earlier this year before the wheels and lights were done. If you want that link, please let me know.

The car will come with the ASA’s or you can have it with the stock wheels only for $500 less. I also have a set of 17” m-contours with snows that are available for sale separately.

Also, a new front wheel sensor was installed today!

i have been looking for a 540 6 speed. im not in a hurry to buy, but you are local and i do have cash in hand. i was waiting for my mom to sell me her dakar yellow m3, but she wont sell. i am in oak lawn, maybe we can set something up. any accidents, rust, problems. how is the interior? let me know. also if you have any more pics, you can send them to

Hello, no rust, no accidents that I know of and I really haven't been able to find any paint work. You are free to check it out. It's at Patrick BMW as it needed at front wheel sensor and they looked it over (as they always do) and can't find anything else wrong with it. Believe me, they love finding things wrong! :mad The interior is really immaculate. No rips or tears in the leather. The drivers floor mat it a bit worn in, but winter mats were used throughout the cars life.
