There were a few poeple that bought the new AA C-38 Stage I SC kit for $3990...just throwing it out there. Not to $hit on your thread.

Yes but:
1 - That was a sale, not the everyday price.
2 - Also that is a non-intercooled kit that makes the same power on the first run, but when it gets hot outside or after repeated runs it will be slower then a stock car. Try driving a non-intercooled s/c on the track. You wish you never came. Experienced that in my old Intergra.
3 - My s/c is less then a year old so not exactly old.
4 - I can save the buyer even more money if hes local and wants me to install it.
5 - It does come with a couple small extras (I know not a lot but still).
6 - If you're seriously interested you're more then welcome to make an offer.

ive always wondered, what kinda gas mileage do you get with a supercharger?

I wonder how much faster this makes the car.

As with anything it will depend greatly on your driving style. I usually drive trying to get as many mpg's as I can and compared to my other stock M3 I only get 2 less mpg.

I wonder how much faster this makes the car.

Well once again it depends on what other mods you have, condition of the engine, etc, but on a healthy stock engine the s/c should make somewhere between 280-290 whp and 255-265 tq. A stock E46 M3 makes what?, around 270-275 whp and 230 tq right?
So you should have no problems walking even a slightly modified E46 M3.

If you're wondering that, then a supercharger is not for you! I would say you sacrifice a few mpg's, but then, you have so much more fun. Adding big amounts of horsepower with an aggressive tune will hurt your mpg's.

normally i would agree.. then again gas isn't 85 cents a gallon like it was when i started driving...

No I'm not complaining about the loss in mpg, I just never knew cause ive never looked into FI... so I figured I'd ask :redspot I would have noooo problemoo paying the extra money for gas if I ever got a SC

I'm just messing around too. In all seriousness though, you should technically get 2-3 mpg less, but you would have to really try. You can throw that out the window right there, because you'll have nothing but the urge for flooring it so I imagine the real actual loss in mpg will be pretty noticeable. Figure in the increase wear on tires, brakes, and issues to come up. Like any machine, more power equals more stress, so unless you are re-inforcing your diff, trans, clutch, drive axles, drive shaft, etc those are all possible failure points. Beyond the added fuel costs are the added up keep costs. With the AA kit some failures may be less likely than a higher horsepower turbo kit, but still a likely scenario.

In the end, it's still worth all that hassle!

I've had a few but nothing is guaranteed. I'm really hoping for a local, that way he/she can see exactly what they're getting and I'll even install it really cheap.

I'll give $3000 + shipping. Does the sc pulley mount a 2nd pulley to the front of the crank or use the stock ? I have an M52 converted E30 that this would be going on & there's no room between the crank pulley & radiator.
