I'm sure this topic was covered already, but I can't find it on the board. If someone knows, can you paste the link, thank you. I want to change my fuel filter on my 98 BMW 318ti. Where is it located? Anything special I need to know? Also on another toopic, sometimes when I stop a light, my idle dips. Not all the time, just sometimes. Just wondering if I can prevent something from happening. Thank you very much.

Your fuel filter is located underneath the car. Beneath the drivers seat. There is a metalic cover shielding it. Just follow the multiple copper fuel lines from the back of the car, leading to the fuel filter.

Be prepared to catch the filter with a large bowl because it does hold a lot of fuel. When I changed mine, I sprayed fuel all over my hair. Eye protetion is definately a good idea.

On the fuel rail of the engine there is a little screw that you can unscrew to expose valve, like the ones on your tires, and you can use a air compressor and give a quick blast to push the fuel out of the lines back into the tank. This should get rid a majority of the gas. Any of the manuals should show pictures of all of that
