View Full Version : Very clean e36 convertible for local sale
MSHii 01-14-2008, 11:16 AM All,
We have a Cosmos/tan '99 328ic five speed with 50k for sale at my store. I figured I'd put it out here in case any of you are looking for a well kept, last year e36 cabrio.
Here is the link to the post on the F/S side: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=911833
If any of you have any questions or if you'd like to come in and take a look close at it, please contact me at 404-456-7128.
Thanks,
MSH II
joecoolinatl 01-15-2008, 11:46 AM you work at LR?
any d90s in stock that have been well kept?

We don't have any D90s right now, Joe. I'll start sniffing around and contact you via this forum if one becomes available. What colors, miles, etc., are you looking for?
qidm67 01-20-2008, 05:33 PM Not to be a jerk, but you might want to come down on the price...just a bit. You will be hard pressed to sell a M3 in that year or back for that price.
krisko 01-21-2008, 08:39 AM I've been in the market and I wouldn't say $15K is unreasonable for this car although I wouldn't pay it personally. That's M3 money.

The price has just been lowered to $13,500. Please call 404-456-7128 if interested in this BMW.
vertvert 01-21-2008, 10:04 PM I have a 1995 325i cabrio with 53,000 miles on it when I bought it 2 years ago for $8500.00.

It sounds like you got a good deal. Beyond that, what's your point? They are similar, but different cars... Not to mention, this one is four model years newer.
Thanks for the bump, though!
MSHii 01-23-2008, 12:05 PM The car is on e-bay now but I'd rather see it go to one of us.
$13,500
krisko 01-23-2008, 12:57 PM It's still priced high...probably $10,000 is right for that car if it's in pristine shape. Ebay is brutal and you'll never get a high asking price on bf.c because we're all a bunch of cheap fekkers.
I'm pretty stoked, I just bought a 2005 Audi A4 Cabriolet for $22,500. 27,000 miles and it's loaded...thread to follow eventually.

I'm sorry. :(

Which engine did you get? Seeing that you seem to get all of your cars at wholesale, you may have gotten taken on this one.

Kinda like if someone bought your convertible for $13,500? :rofl
*EDIT* A quick, thirty-second Autotrader search showed he got a pretty good deal, FWIW:

Hmmm... Asking prices considerably higher than what he paid. How does that differ from this case? He did get a good deal for paying retail for his Audi, however, his purchasing price was still higher than the wholesale cost. That said, I followed your lead and did an Autotrader search for a '99 5 speed 328ic and found that, unless the search was expanded to 500 miles, there is only one other car out there and it has over 43,000 miles more than the car here. Click on the link to see what I mean.

Also, when one considers that this car is in really good condition, is a desirable color combination, and will be sold with a fresh detail, $13,500 is a fair price. Finally, the car is local, so anyone in this section who is seriously interested can inspect and test drive it before buying.
BimmerDawg 01-23-2008, 04:52 PM Wait, this isn't even your car, is it? You're a freakin' dealer?!? I honestly felt bad for a little bit by polluting your thread, now I really don't give a damn.
This is the exact reason I got out of the automobile sales business. Too freakin' shady.

Are you just now realizing this Geordie? He's been vilified in his F/S thread because of that too. All this up-talk and crap so he can make a commission. :rofl

Yah, I really didn't pay attention. I just saw an overpriced E36 for sale and didn't pay too much attention to the thread until he got all defensive on krisko. Fack, when I sold BMWs I had to PAY to advertise my cars for sale on this board...:rolleyes

Yeah, it wasn't that long ago. You also weren't weaselly and didn't hide the fact that you were selling it for a dealership.
This is slightly reminiscent of another thread on here where some shady selling of parts on CL and here was done by someone who didn't own the car the parts were coming off of. :devillook
Doctor Wha 01-23-2008, 05:10 PM The way you guys are talking, it almost sounds like we need a moderator in this section... :ponder
:biglaughb
I will generate my generic "You're asking way to much" post:
You're asking way too much for that car, you'll be lucky @ $9k. Oh yea, dealer's can't post cars on the forums unless you're a supporting vendor. Why? Because then we'd have dealers spamming the boards all day.
