Why am I selling?
It's time to move on. This car has been lots of fun and I always get compliments on it, but my lifestyle has changed. As soon as I pull out of my garage in the E30, everyone in the world stares at me. I just don't like the attention. I'm also concerned about safety. If I wreck my E39, I can take comfort in knowing it is one of the safest cars ever produced. While the E30 is very safe for a car built in the 80's, it is not as safe as the E39 or E46. Finally, I only have two garage sports. One will belong to the 540i. The other I have plans for...maybe and SL55 or E46 M3 cabrio...I want a vert.

The Good:
Everything...this car is amazing. Clear title, E36 M3 type performance, and so many new parts. I think I've replaced almost everything on this car since I bought it in January of 2000. For the last 8 years and 85,000 miles this car has been my passion. You simply can't compare it to any other E30...instead think of it as a 2000-2002 E46 as I completely overhauled the car over those two years.

I also have all the parts necessary to build up a 3.2 monster. I will include these with the car for full asking price.

The Bad:
1. I currently have a leaking clutch master cylinder. This will be resolved before I sell the car.
2. VANOS is noisy. It's time to start planning for a Vanos replacement. Hell, just do this when you build up the 3.2!
3. The car has a "DOT R" front driver side fender. At some point, the front driver side fender was replaced. I did not own the car when this happened.
4. There are a few door dings. Consider this car to be in the same condition as a well maintained 2000-2002 E46 as I completely overhauled this car over those two years.
5. Rear tires will rub durring extreme cornering.
6. Since there are not CATS, emissions could be an issue...I may have a solution though.

Want a show car?
Do some touch up paint, update the sound system, and flare the fenders. You have a car that can now compete in car shows.

Want a powerful monster?
Throw in a 3.2 Block. With the current mods + a 3.2 bottom end and the proper software, 240RWHP is easily in sight. Just beware, you WILL need bigger tires. Other then some larger rubber, the chassis is already prepared for serious power. The E36 M3 clutch, flywheel, and tranny are almost new. The e28 rear end, and M coupe trailing arms/half shafts will put power to the rear wheels.

Want a track car?
Rip out the heavy seats and sound system. Sell them on eBay. Take the profits and invest in some race seats and a roll bar. You now have a 2,750 pound track ready car.

$13,000.00 or Trade

This is somewhat negotiable. For $13,000, I will include the 3.2 block and all the other components necessary to build up a 3.2 S52 OBD1 monster. If you do not want all these parts, I will consider offers in the $12,000-$12,500 range. Please don't come at me with the KBB Value on a 1988 325is with 230,000 miles. We all know such a comparison is absurd. Anything less then $12,000 and I will probably just keep the car. I have seen a lot of E30 project cars and many of them skip steps or focus only on a few features. My car truly has it all.

As for trades, I'm open to offers and ideas.

Thanks guys...not really looking for a Lincoln LS or speakers. Looking for cash or a high mileage E46 Cabrio. Thank you for being brave enough to post though...you never know what may tickle my interest.

I might consider other cars, but only those with a value high enough for me to sell and pocket my $13,000.

I really hate to see this car go, but I never drive it anymore and it does not fit my lifestyle. Blasting down the 101 in Cali through Malibu on the way back from Bimmerfest was an experience I will never forget.

I also need to add that the custom V1 mount will stay, but the V1 stays with me. I love my V1 more then any other possession as it has kept me out of jail multiple times. Despite the fact that I speed regularly, I have not gotten a ticket since buying the V1 in 2003.

Yup.

Got a cash buyer looking at the car on Sunday though...

I know I'm going to regret doing this...but an E46 Cab is just too tempting.

Still for sale...but there is a twist.

I am trying to broker a deal between an investor and the owner of a condo conversion project. If the deal goes through (March/April closing date), I'll probably be able to justify having 3 cars (I'd buy an E46 and keep the E30). If it does not go through, I will still be interested in selling my E30 so I can obtain an e46 drop top.

So, you guys have until spring to come up with the money. Go get paid.

Nvm I dont think Im going to buy it.
Despite my 4.74 GPA, allstate believes that if I get in a car like that I'm going to kill myself in about 2 months and wants to charge me $350/month for insurance.

Give 21st century insurance a call or go to www.21st.com. Im 22 and I previously had a 90 E30 and I paid as much for liability on that car as I do now for my E36 with full coverage, a $250 deductible for comprehensive, and $500 for collision, plus I have really hight coverage across the board.
