:confused

Aight, i got the aux input for the Ipod. Figured out how to pull the nav/stereo, and according to the directions provided from the factory - there is a place to plug in this 3-pin connector into the main harness, to control the aux functions.

well...all i can find are the two connectors that plug directly back into the head unit, and nothing else. I've taken some pictures of all of the stuff behind the dash, and done some searching for where this should plug in. Still no-go. Have I got the incorrect adapter??? Or what??? just odd.

My car has the premium, cold weather, nav, DSP, changer with a cassette behind the nav option.

Mine is an 03 w/ business CD and no nav. The Aux cable just plugged into a the back of the dash mounted CD unit, where a trunk mounted changer would have connected. Based on that, see if there is an open plug on the back of the nav or casette unit.

There are no connections on the back of the head unit, other than these two plugs. totally blank. It's very odd. I don't seem to have any of the same "bus" connectors or anything that i've seen in the threads regarding this install...mine seems to be fully integrated into the 1 blue, and 1 white plug. Quite odd - and yet - the instructions that came with the cable from BMW show the two connectors that i see, and a third, somewhere in that harness, that i've not found, even with an hour of looking.

I think he said on the back of the CD unit not the head unit.

well, that would suck...i have a changer in the rear...this is supposed to connect under the dash, and be in the glovebox...according to bmw. lord.

time for more surgery i guess.

Look on the back of your tape unit. That's what Chief was referring to. He has the business CD so in your case it would be the tape deck then.

Bingo, The aux input uses the same plug that the changer plugs into under the dash. I don't think you can use both, it's either CD changer or aux input. I'm pretty sure it is on the back of the cassette unit (if you have one).
