My 530 sport has 118K miles on it (I bought it with 60K in Nov. 06) I spend so much time in it that my drivers seat have darkened. (silver/grey) Is there anything that you guys know of short of redying that I can do to get it back to looking like the other seats???

Some mental giant backed into my front bumper back in the summer, small place where he/she hit it. problem is the alignment on the drivers side is off now. I have been told that the entire bumper will have to be replaced (under my uninsured motorist coverage) Not sure but I'm thinking about replacing it with an M5 front is replacement is the option. Problem is I kinda feel like a poser.

Opinions???

BTW 1 more post and I'll post pics for both.

Have you tried cleaning the seats? I used Leatherique Pristine Clean. You want to stay away from waxy products, like saddle soap, that will clog the leather. You might try some Woolite diluted with water (maybe 10:1, no more) then wipe it down again with a damp cloth.

As far as the M5 bumper, I don't really think you;d be a poser to install one. BMW makes a M5 style bumper specifically for non-M5 cars. I think it's called a M-Tech bumper and includes provisions for brake ducts, etc. So you can think of it as optional and you're upgrading the bumper. I may do this, too.

No I haven't tried cleaning it with anything yet, I wanted to see if anyone had the same concerns and what they had used/ results.

So I should go through BMW store for the M-tech bumper??? All I have to pay is 250.00 ins. covers the rest.

Thanks for the reply.

skiapet,

If I haven't already welcomed you, welcome to Bf.c.

1. :dunno

2. Upgrade. M5 bumper looks great IMO.

Also, your signature's height is a tad over the forum limits.

The enforced signature size limit is a maximum of approximately 600 pixels wide X 240 pixels high in total area. Generally, this limitation is the TOTAL size for ALL text and images in a multi-image signature. In addition to the maximum image, you are allowed two lines of text. Anything over 2 lines of text requires that you subtract 15 pixels per each line of text. Also please consider using the smaller font for any text within your signatures.

I think that is why it is getting cut off.
Anyway, a resize would be appreciated.

Thanks

James

I posted before you added the pictures. I'd definitely try cleaning that seat. Just a wet towel will make a difference. Leatherique is pretty much just a mail order item. If you really want to try an OTC leather cleaner, you might try Lexol. At least it won't ruin the leather AFAIK.

+1 for leatherique (http://www.leatherique.com/)... amazing stuff, just spray and wipe on and let it sit & bake for a few hours, wipe it off with lexol or similar, and it will look WAY better...
if that doesnt work, check into spray can leather dye... i cant find the site right now but a friend with gray interior did it and although it wasnt EXACT it turned out very nice, and much better than the "dirty" look of worn seats...
