I'm thinking about getting a new 335i coupe this spring, what's your experience been with Global Imports in Atlanta? (Sales and after sales, service etc..).

(Sales and after sales, service etc..). kevbh 01-12-2008, 09:44 PM I bought a car from them in April 2006 and it was fairly painless. My salesman was named Emile or something like that. He's from South Africa and had some interesting stories, and was an all around nice guy. My service experience has been fine too. When I took the car in for an oil change at 20,000 miles (I did several changes prior to that myself), they replaced the brake pads under the "free" maintanence program, no questions asked. :devillook Both times that I've asked for a loaner, they've given me a Z4 3.0si Coupe which was fun. That said, if I buy another new BMW, I plan to give United BMW in Roswell first opportunity because they support the BMWCCA where several of the folks on this forum autocross, do track days, and other fun car stuff. I try to support those that support things I'm interested in. Oh, and if you're ordering a car, be sure to sign up for Performance Center Delivery - it's awesome and free. Better yet, go with European Delivery AND Performance Center Delivery; I heard that you can do both now! Good luck on the purchase. I definitely like your choice. :stickoutt Cable2 01-12-2008, 10:50 PM Thanks for your feedback, it's good to know that they treated you fairly and your after sales experience has been good, I feel it's very important especially in this day and age to look at all aspects when buying a new car. They have done nothing but give Chapter Officers the runaround over the last several years. Call Greg Heiman at United Gwinnett or Steve Maguire at United Roswell. vertvert 01-13-2008, 12:55 AM Talk to Philip he works in Service. You can PM him at Clubbimmer.com keeptheuroalive 01-13-2008, 12:57 AM Not sure about buying the car, but for parts Global is so much better stocked than anywhere else. JJ Byzanz 01-13-2008, 01:30 AM Talk to Zak Reitzfield or Rob Collini, they will take care of you. And tell them Jesse said hello. Uberdude328i 01-13-2008, 01:49 AM As far as buying, Global didn't really seem to work with me. I went to United and got a much better deal. Rosss Long is the GM over at United Gwinnett, and while he didn't necessarily take care of me personally, he was helping me out every step of the way. Ryan Chromek and Jennie Gibson were both my CAs and were both really helpful. I mean, they gave me TWO client advisors! CosmoE36 01-13-2008, 03:46 AM my family has bought 3 cars from global. the first was a 2000 MZ3 coupe, 2nd was a 2004 E46 330i ZHP sedan and our latest one is a 2006 E60 525i and each and every time has been a painless experience. my sales advisor for all 3 vehicles was Bennett OK4 (african) very nice guy who goes above and beyond to take care you and cut you the best possible deal i went to united gwinnett and they were nice as well but their selection is not that great compared to Global, Global has the best selection that i have seen between United gwinnett, roswell and global bmw. they have more 335i's, more M5's and M6's more selection of Used cars on their lot. they actualy had 3 2006 E46 M3's on their lot when United gwinnett had one that sold wiht the quickness and united roswell which had 1 that is still sitting with high milage and older year model. my brother has had positive experiences with global service with his 330i and i have no doubt i will have the same with my e60 s14realm3 01-13-2008, 10:33 AM I would ONLY use United BMW in Roswell. Steve Mcguire there is awesome, active club member and ex club racer with a e30 m3 (the REAL m3), tell him you are from the Bimmerforums list and what you are looking for. Global maybe BIG but they are so snobby and they don't care about you, just your $$ BruceH 01-13-2008, 10:46 AM United Roswell has been a major sponsor of the HPDE events. United Gwinnett has sponsored the Concours for many years. Thru the years both have been significant contributors to the Holiday parties. These financial commitments are significant. Shop with those who support the enthusiast and BMW CCA. bmwdave 01-13-2008, 12:08 PM I would say United Bmw Roswell . Great Place with great poeple ! Iam a little bias thought . Iam a master tech there ! M3Bill 01-13-2008, 12:12 PM I have bought both of my M3's from Nalley...particularly Rob Zweig. Great place and great people. JeremyDS 01-13-2008, 01:46 PM I was very happy with my United service experience. They called back and scheduled me in within a few hours, and the SA bent over backward to make sure I was happy, even when the car was bought somewhere else. My roommate gets his Mini serviced by Global and it usually takes him about 2 weeks just to get a service scheduled... only to get jerked around even more when he actually brings it in. Not sales, but fairly indicative, I think, of the attitude of the dealer as a whole. 95m3Lightweight 01-13-2008, 07:45 PM Global 2 big thumbs DOWN. :nono ///M3Mike 01-14-2008, 10:54 AM Bought the e46 from Nalley and the e30 from Ebay. My salesman from Nalley is now at Nalley Acura and salesman from Ebay is somewhere in Philly/Jersey so I have no idea what he's up to. Doctor Wha 01-14-2008, 11:05 AM United Roswell FTW for us. :buttrock Global has been on a long, slippery slope of "suck" in recent years. :thumbdown denaid 02-19-2008, 10:15 PM Bought mine at United in Roswell but prior to that I went to Global and spent an afternoon with "Bimmer Joe". I can't remember his last name but I'll look for his card. When he handed me his card I noticed his email address was something like bimmerjoe@yahoo.com. Anyway, good experience at Global with Joe and with Diana on the Mini side earlier last year. Haven't had to experience service at Global just yet. United was the best car financing experience I ever had . Becky was great. The sales guy (Amadou Lelenta) had it pretty easy because I walked on the lot, found the exact car I wanted, drove it and bought it. kendogg 02-20-2008, 02:39 AM I would say United Bmw Roswell . Great Place with great poeple ! Iam a little bias thought . Iam a master tech there ! You probably know my roommate fairly well then. kaamacat 02-20-2008, 09:04 AM Interesting to see that service @ Global hasn't changed much. Thats exactly the reason we said never to go back again. (Purchased a 98' 328....... yes back in 1998. Whenever we needed to call for service, and I mean about every time, you could never get a person on the phone but a recording. When the car had only 1500 miles on it and went into stupid-mode because something was bad, the lead service tech told me "well its a new car, these things happen). Needless to say we would never go back to them again. (To me the service I get when needed is 1/2 the sales deal IMHO) Oh the flip side, as Bruce has said a few times, United has REALLY supported us over the years and that (to me) is a easy sway to United if it comes-to-it. (Along with others like DaveH) united323is 02-20-2008, 01:29 PM I also vote in favor of United of Roswell, though I am a bit biased, as I am a tech there too. I haven't been doing it long enough though, as I can still type, have decent grammar, and spell properly. You probably know my roommate fairly well then. Who's your roomate Ken? Jean-Claude 02-20-2008, 02:01 PM My dealings? The service department has had incompetent "advisers" and the service department manager will not accept responsibility for the actions of Global Imports. To the tune of $10k+. I suggest you go to Church Street off of 78 in Decatur. Nalley BMW is better all around, imo. CosmoE36 02-20-2008, 02:52 PM My dealings? I suggest you go to Church Street off of 78 in Decatur. Nalley BMW is better all around, imo. i went to Nalley before i went to GLobal and their prices were outrageous as well as their financing. United Gwinnett had horrible prices on their CPO cars as well. My family has bought 3 CPO cars from Global over the past 2 years and have had no issues with sales or service. Every time my brother has had issues with his 04 330 ZHP he has taken it to global for service whether it was standard service and oil changes or an odd sound or creak or hesitation it was having and was in and out with no flack from anyone in service even though the car is an 04. It does suck that its hit or miss with what service peopel get when they go to Global as good service should be something that happens with everyone every time not just certain people at certain types of the day when the moon is at full alignment and blue. But honestly for my family and me we have had an excellent experience buying and servicing. Jean-Claude 02-20-2008, 04:41 PM I'm glad you're having a good experience with them. I've not purchased a new or used car in quite some time and never from either of these dealerships. But, GLOBAL cost me $10k. I did what a adviser told me to do and it cost me a 40k mile motor. Then they shrug me off when I call them on it. They burned me and you'd better believe they will and have burned others. i went to Nalley before i went to GLobal and their prices were outrageous as well as their financing. They didn't have what I wanted so they said they would call me within the week with new arrivals. Never got a call back. One month later, went to Athens BMW and bought a car instead. 8 months later, got an e-mail from somebody at Global asking if my visit was pleasant and productive. E-mailed back telling them they lost a sale b/c they couldn't give me a courtesy call. I believe you also pay a lot fee at Global for that huge parking garage they sit on. You won't see that at United. United has nice service people too. ///M3Mike 02-20-2008, 06:55 PM I just remembered my experience with Global. I told them exactly what I wanted and didn't want. Dude tried to convince me I wanted some stuff I did, and didn't want some stuff that I actually did want. :confused The dude at Nalley noted my wants, clarified what I didn't want....determined it wasn't available in the Southeast, and promptly offered me a build slot. Didn't question why I wanted or did want certain options. and yes I realize this is an old thread and yes I realize I responded when it was new kerph32 02-20-2008, 07:44 PM Not sure about buying the car, but for parts Global is so much better stocked than anywhere else. gotta jump in here and say that nalley has them trumped both on inventory and price. list minus 10% for CCA G. P. Burdell 02-21-2008, 09:04 AM I believe you also pay a lot fee at Global for that huge parking garage they sit on. Probably so. The shorter parking deck (employees on top, CPO cars on the bottom) was originally intended to be some kind of massive glass and steel sales/service atrium, according to the artist's conception that was in a flyer I got from Global around 1999. Value engineering at its best. 325i_Dan 02-21-2008, 01:30 PM Obviously I'm biased as well. I bought my car from United in Gwinnett almost 4 years ago now. Jennie Gibson was excellent. Darnell (Sales manager) gave me a maintenance plan of 100k miles for nothing, and financing I got a great deal. Car is paid off now! Service, at the time I had Artie who was great to me. Loved it so much, I came to work for them! :D ///M3Mike 03-10-2008, 11:34 AM So I shot Steve Maguire an e-mail based on the overwhelming response in this thread as I'm looking to make a change soon and my previous salesman and since left Nalley. I got an "Out of office" reply saying Steve will be out until November  jskicet 03-11-2008, 10:46 PM So I shot Steve Maguire an e-mail based on the overwhelming response in this thread as I'm looking to make a change soon and my previous salesman and since left Nalley. They can't even type! united323is 03-11-2008, 11:26 PM So I shot Steve Maguire an e-mail based on the overwhelming response in this thread as I'm looking to make a change soon and my previous salesman and since left Nalley. I got an "Out of office" reply saying Steve will be out until November  Steve is still there, he is taking over our entire internet business department, call 678-832-4600 and ask for him. If he is out, as for Ray Blount, he used to race all sorts of cars... rally and road racing. M3forJTB 03-12-2008, 04:03 PM I wouldn't use global ever again, they have let me down on several occasions and have failed to take responsible action in the same. A while back I had a lot of Dinan work done at global (over $10k... which looking back was Bullshit, but I was a dumb kid then.) When the car was finally done (almost 3 months after they promised) I was away at school and had my father pick the car up for me. When I got to see the car and the work... I was miffed to say the least, they charged me for front and rear tower braces and I only got the rear, front was NEVER installed (even talked directly to dinan and they ended up sending me one, despite global's BS), also my Schrick mani. which I paid to have ported and polished was NOT that at all, rather it had been roughed up on the inside (so much so that you'd cut your finger if you ran it along the wall of any of the 6 mani tubes)... the list DOES NOT END here. I was also looking to buy a new car a few years back (ended up just keeping my M3) and they refused to treat me with respect and seriousness, presumably due to my age. This was the last straw, as I had spend a good deal of money there and NEVER got a hint of respect that one should even grant a new customer. Hope this helps, go to United now. |
