I am putting a 2.8 into a 93 e36, Replacing a 2.5. Everything hooked up fine, had some issues with small stuff like power steering, oil filter etc, But I have no spark, and no fuel pressure. Any ideas ? I had it before with the old engine.

The computer will not turn on the fuel pump or give spark unless it gets a signal from the crank sensor. It won't set an error code either to tell you that the crank sensor is bad. I had the same problem, and finally changed the crank sensor after proving to myself on another car, that the fuel pump doesn't turn on until the engine cranks.

You might have the crank sensor hooked up wrong, but since you had the problem with the old engine, my guess would be that it is just bad.

Check this thread to see how well that swap worked for me:http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=900153
