View Full Version : In Search of....
BillN 01-10-2008, 06:56 PM I currently have a 2003 Z43.0i, which I love but......
I would like to move up to an MZ4.
The only problem is that I can't find the one that I want.
I do not want to make payments or lease and am not willing to shell out the $ to order an 08 so what I am looking for is a 2006 MZ4 Roadster in Sepang Bronze with Beige Top, light Beige extended leather interior and wood trim.
So...if anyone knows of one available please let me know...
thanks.
Reach 01-10-2008, 07:24 PM If you've already got a combo you like in your 3.0, just supercharge it and add an LSD. For less than the cost of 'trading up' you'll be beating M's around the track in the car you already have; assuming your driving skills can keep up.
epbrown 01-10-2008, 07:33 PM He doesn't have that combo - it wasn't available in 2003, and I don't think Sepang's available on anything but the Ms.
Based on the description, he's looking to steal JackB1's (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=11555976&postcount=22) car. ;)
There's a 2008 sitting on a lot in TX, but that's outside your search criteria.

Do you know the name of the dealer?
Treepusher 01-10-2008, 11:05 PM I've seen (and driven) a Sepang '07 Z4 M Coupe at BMW Gallery in Norwell, Ma, but no Roadsters in that color. And presumably even the M Coupe is long gone, with all the terrific end of year deals.
Why not just call your local dealer and see what they can find for you?
epbrown 01-11-2008, 01:03 AM Do you know the name of the dealer?
It's here (http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=236003022&dealer_id=89761&car_year=2008&model=BMWROAD&num_records=100&systime=&make2=&start_year=2006&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=0&marketZipError=false&color3=BEIGE&color2=GOLD&search_lang=en&make=BMW&color=BROWN&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=60606&advanced=y&end_year=2008&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=816). The difference between my search and Lauren's is I included gold.
BillN 01-11-2008, 07:34 AM that one is close but does not have extended leather or wood trim.
Plus I would like the price of a CPO 2006 allot better :)
Manny34102 01-11-2008, 09:41 AM Then a policy of patience and diligence is in order. Stay in top of the web resources and don't automatically exclude eBay.
BillN 01-11-2008, 11:03 AM yup...I have been checking the BMW CPO inventory regularly and also e-bay.
I purchased the 2003 through e-bay and did very well..

I'd drop extended leather from my search criteria if I were you - it seems to be the rarest option out there, and only on cars that were custom ordered.
Reach 01-11-2008, 07:45 PM I even found mine on eBay. Purchased it locally, but found the ad on everyone's favorite auction site. Do searches regularly and use their function to sort or exclude by distance.
BillN 01-17-2008, 04:42 PM Just bumping this up in case someone knows of a car....
Roland 01-17-2008, 08:03 PM The extended leather is going to be hard to find as it is not that commonly ordered. When I ordered my car with extended leather, it was the first one that the dealer had ever seen - subsequently, they ordered a roadster with it, but again - it is very rare...
RobMCoupe 01-17-2008, 11:08 PM Extended leather is very rare. I was lucky to run into one sitting on the dealer lot and got a pretty good deal. That was the first one I seen and it looks really nice.
I know of one! PM me for info. JBZ4
jackb1 01-20-2008, 01:42 PM Mine is on Swapalease right now - you could buy it from BMWFS now for the payoff - low lease payment x months left + low residual = good buyout price -

Extremely well taken care of!
PM or e-mmail me jackb1@bellsouth.net for my phone if I can help.
Thanks John "JBZ4" and "epbrown" for the good word!
Best!

BillN 01-20-2008, 02:01 PM Nice car!
almost exactly what I am looking for...
however when I add up the remaining lease payments plus the Buy -out price the numbers are not what I had in mind.....maybe I am figuring it out incorrectly....
thanks for posting it...
Why on earth do you want to get rid of it?

I have two Z4s and have to choose one to keep. My wife can drive a 6speed, loves the Z4 but dislikes the M. Lease on my 05Z4 3.0 6Sp ends in several months and I am likely buying it to keep - it has everything I want in a Z4 including color, hardtop and my special cosmetic mods -

I am 60 with about four more years to retirement (maybe longer). I want to lease through my business what my wife will love when I buy it at end of that lease - and one that will get my blood pressure up too!

Along with our 2006 F150 Super Crew, these will give more balance in the cars in my garage as I head toward retirement.
So the ///M was a great experience and is like new with only 8,100 miles - good time to find a new owner (leaser).
Feel free to PM me if you would like to know more.
You will love this color and get lots of great comments! Good luck!
Best!

BillN 01-20-2008, 04:53 PM Hi Jack...thanks for the reply...
if I may ask....what does she dislike about the M?
jackb1 01-20-2008, 06:00 PM Hi Jack...thanks for the reply...
if I may ask....what does she dislike about the M?
We both think our Bronze Z4M Roadster is the most beautiful car we have ever owned.
I have always wanted the ///M car experience and the reduced leased rates (originally $1,100/mo - - mine is $654/mo) made it possible - and a Z4 which we enjoy! More adrenaline raising than our previous Z cars. What a great car!
We both agree that our 05Z43.0 drives and shifts "sweet"! I think she was spoiled with how nice this car is to drive. She has even shared the driving on trips.
As a passenger she likes the ///MZ4 as much as the 3.0.
But to drive it, she doesn't like the heavier clutch, tighter steering or the feeling that it is bigger and heavier (she can drive it though - and smooth). I agree it is all those things, but I enjoy those same points as it is what helps hang on to it when you give it it's head! It's like a Z4 "Muscle Car" and a great experience for any Z4 driver.
For the last 14 months I have had the enjoyment of two Z4s to drive and she has driven our Ford truck. She admits that she loves being a passenger while I get so much enjoyment driving these cars. But I think I have pushed this unbalance as far as I should and need to move on to have a different car available for her too.
In the end, my Black Z4 is the car I always wanted!
Best!
Jack
