I have ST-40 calipers and was given a tip that Porsche 928 pads will fit, and are significantly cheaper in PF-01 than Stop Tech specific shape-
I ordered them but have to grind the backing plate to get them to fit properly-
it's worth it for the cost savings, but was wondering if anyone has tried this also, or did I order the wrong Porshe pad size? (I got 7600)
and where are the best prices on PF-01's-
thanks

I'd go Bimmerworld also. James sells them retail for less than my wholesale cost - yikes!

agreed-I am a satisfied Bimmerworld customer already-

I guess I am wondering if its worth getting the Porsche 928 fitments and grinding off the excess backing plate material or sticking with precise fitment pads for the ST-40's-
seems to save about $60-$70 per set of pads-

a guy parked next to me at WGI, with ST-40's, swore that the Porsche pads fit his calipers perfectly

certainly not the case with me--I bought PF-01 size 7700.016644 and the backing plates are just a little too tall, but are ground down pretty easily to fit under the bridge of the ST-40's-
wonder if another Porsche size is closer??

Would be worth investigating for sure...anything to save $ on quickly consumable items is a plus.
