Hey Guys,
I have been off and on on this forum for a while and I just want to start off by saying that you guys rock and have provided so much valuable information in the past few years. Now time for the sad part: I have a 97 M3 that overheated twice in the past 3 weeks and it seems that it caused the head gasket to leak. At this point we do not know the extent of the damage to the head but know that it should be taken off and resurfaced and pressure tested before replacing the head gasket. I am moving up to San Francisco in the next month and do not have time to deal with a rebuild and then sell so I have decided to just sell it as is and take the loss. Here are the details
Price- $8500 OBO
Location- Arcadia/Pasadena CA
1997 Hellrot Red BMW M3 ~105K Miles
5 Speed
The Good:
Euro style blinkers and sidemarkers (clear)
Euro Style Tailights (Clear blinkers)
DEPO Headlights (Glass) w/ Angel Eyes and Philips HID's
Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs
Koni Yellow Adjustable Shocks
Remus Exhaust
Brand New (Literally just installed during Christmas) Pioneer DEH-6900UB
-Includes cleanly installed IPOD adapter cable
Tinted on all windows
Stealth Auto Pedals/Shiftknob/E-Brake Kit
Brand New Radiator installed 2 weeks Ago
New Thermostat installed 2 days ago
Exterior is overall quiet clean and interior looks fantastic for a 1997 (Cleanest I have seen in a while).
All new Fluids at ~95k mark
Mobil1 Synthetic Changed every 3-5k mi.
The Bad:
Blow Head Gasket - Will not run due to inability to hold Temp (leaking coolant)
From what I have heard and what my mechanic had told me this can run from $1000-$3000 (Dependent on shop and amount of work you do once head is off)
Some Moldings need new connectors (Very Minor)
I do not have any pics on hand right now but here are some pics of my car at a meet a little while back (Halfway down the Red E36 M3 with the 2 others)
