View Full Version : Kinda MS relae..... Ferrari tools? T56 Impala 01-09-2008, 07:30 PM Anyone know who is he "Official" tool supplier for the Ferrari team? The factory? What tools to Ferrari shop guys use? ss109 01-09-2008, 07:42 PM Facom. T56 Impala 01-09-2008, 07:45 PM I thought that but I keep hearing Beta and Toptul are suppliers.Does Facom produce those brands? Rory 01-09-2008, 08:59 PM Do they use factory tools or their own? Rory 01-09-2008, 09:01 PM Do they use factory tools or their own? google is your friend http://www.ultimategarage.com/Facom/facfer2.html T56 Impala 01-09-2008, 09:25 PM That says 2001..... but...... http://www.procarestores.com/company/index.php Rory 01-09-2008, 09:29 PM That says 2001..... but...... http://www.procarestores.com/company/index.php Indeed, I'm pretty sure it say Beta on their trucks lol, or maybe not according to Beta's 2007 partnerships http://www.beta-tools.com/cms-web/upl/doc//motorsport/spon_moto_ita_07.pdf To answer the original question it would seem Ferrari do not have an 'official' tool supplier currently. I would say the guys probably uses a combination of Facom & Beta tools, lol T56 Impala 01-09-2008, 09:49 PM Interesting. I'e looked at both and I must say the Beta sure are nice looking tools. I haven't touched anyof them but they sure look nice. I have a few Facom sockets in my tool box (picked up at a pawn shop of all places). They are no nicer quality than SO. GotBHP? 01-10-2008, 02:28 AM Huh? You mean they don't use the same POS Craftsman tools I get from Sears?? bigdog68 01-10-2008, 09:14 AM I have thought it was Facom however Beta might be if thats on the side of their trucks, however Ferrari does manufacture a lot of their own tools, at least they used to. My father is a Ferrari Collector and in the tool kit for his 71 365 GTC4 the tools are stamped FERRARI and say made in ITALY. I will have to run by his house and see if that is true on the newer cars. The only reason I know for sure on the 71 is that I have had to use those before. Irish1 01-10-2008, 10:39 AM Oh Jeez, now I've gotta go out in my 11 degrees F garage and find my old lead-head wheel nuts knock-off Ferrari hammer. Facom?? Have'ta check. Old for sure and genuine...:eyecrazy T56 Impala 01-10-2008, 11:25 AM The tools with my 328GTB were stamped FERRARI also. 1t was a 1988 model. The PO also had a few Beta screwdrivers and 2 Beta wrenches in the pouch. I saw nothing that was stamped Facom. I'm just wondering what the race team uses. It ould not suprize me if they were in house tools. JuliusPleaser 01-10-2008, 11:41 AM Ohhhh. I was thinking of a different kind of tool. I get confused when I see "MS" and Ferrari tool" used in the same sentence. :devillook Rory 01-10-2008, 12:09 PM . I'm just wondering what the race team uses. It ould not suprize me if they were in house tools. I'm pretty sure it would be similar to us. The only in house tools made will be for specific fittings, fasteners and jobs on their cars. (There would be quite a few of these) Most the general fixings would use off the shelf tools. (snap-on, facom etc.) jibbajabba 01-10-2008, 01:44 PM I'm pretty sure they all use Harbor Freight tools. T56 Impala 01-10-2008, 04:08 PM :lol HF!!!!! S.Lang 01-10-2008, 06:07 PM Ohhhh. I was thinking of a different kind of tool. I get confused when I see "MS" and Ferrari tool" used in the same sentence. :devillook Don't worry JP, I got it. :) T56 Impala 01-10-2008, 06:25 PM Oh, I got it, I just decided not o be the first to say anything about JP's poor taste. bigdog68 01-10-2008, 08:15 PM Yeah I got it too and thought it was funny but I was a MS fan for some time, however it is funny! GotBHP? 01-10-2008, 09:53 PM I'm sure JP just gets wood every time he sees 'MS' and has a chance to make fun of him, even though it might stand for motorsports or multiple sclerosis. JuliusPleaser 01-10-2008, 11:17 PM Wow. It was a joke. I didn't mean for anyone to get their red panties in a bunch. Rennhaus 01-11-2008, 12:26 AM Dealerships guys use same tools as BMW, Porsche, and even Ford. Mostly Snapon with Mac and Matco thrown in. Last time was at a race with a factory sponsored team, I saw everything from Facom, to Hazet. ///Mal 01-11-2008, 12:29 AM :rofl :rofl Man that was funny, maybe the nutdanglers here need to get a life beyond Schufacher ... a sense of humor wouldn't hurt either :rofl GotBHP? 01-11-2008, 12:50 AM Wow. It was a joke. I didn't mean for anyone to get their red panties in a bunch. No reason for your feelings to be hurt, who the hell is serious on the internet (esp. in this section)? bigdog68 01-11-2008, 12:21 PM Just an update the tools in the tool kits in the newer Ferrari's are stamped FERRARI CHROME VANADIUM", this is out of a 360 and a 430, went over to check at my father house so I dont know if they use the same as the race team. I called up our dealership as I was interested and they use Snap-On, though when I asked why they said they had the best availability of tools to better service all models and years of Ferrari, however they have many special tools made by Ferrari. JuliusPleaser 01-11-2008, 02:29 PM No reason for your feelings to be hurt, who the hell is serious on the internet (esp. in this section)? My feelings aren't hurt at all. I'm just apologizing to all the Schu fans for ruffling their feathers. I had no idea the Tifosi were still so sensitive. :rolleyes |
