Well, my salesperson just called and gave me a "production number" and a "production code". The code was 111, which I guess means the order was accepted. Now the wait begins.

View Full Version : 135 Coupe order is in the system! Whiplash 01-09-2008, 06:18 PM Well, my salesperson just called and gave me a "production number" and a "production code". The code was 111, which I guess means the order was accepted. Now the wait begins. mikeo 01-10-2008, 07:55 PM Congrats! Do you know about the Owner's Circle at bmwusa.com? Create an account with the production number and you can follow the car (OC is admittedly VERY slow to update). mazdaspeed153 01-10-2008, 08:16 PM sweet PrematureApex 01-10-2008, 10:01 PM Does the period for ordering end when the car is released, or can I order at any time? If its limited, when do they stop taking orders? Thanks John mikeo 01-10-2008, 10:49 PM Dealers can take orders as long as BMW keeps allocating them production slots for the 1 series. BMW expects to deliver about 20,000 1 series to the U.S. in the shortened 2008 MY. Talk to dealers in your area to select one you're comfortable with. xbmx89 01-11-2008, 01:57 AM how much was the car? mikeo 01-11-2008, 08:20 AM My MSRP was $38300 for 135i, Sparkling Graphite, black leatherette, aluminum trim, 6MT, Sport Package, USB, bluetooth. Create an account with the production number and you can follow the car (OC is admittedly VERY slow to update). I just did that last night! I have a horrible feeling I'm going to be spending WAY too much time on that site... My MSRP was $38300 for 135i, Sparkling Graphite, black leatherette, aluminum trim, 6MT, Sport Package, USB, bluetooth. I got the exact same car excpet mine is Alpine White. We're going to do Performance Center delivery on this one. The people I've talked to that have done it said it's outstanding. We were going to do European Delivery but the whole "must come out of the dealers allocation" kind of derailed that plan. bimmerdriver99 01-13-2008, 01:31 AM This may have been brought up already but is 2008 going to be the only year for the 1 series or does BMW plan to continue producing them in years to come? I remember seeing a thread about this but I can't be 100% sure. JizJizJiz 01-13-2008, 04:01 AM Congratulations :). Waiting on the tii myself :o. alexw 01-13-2008, 08:17 AM This may have been brought up already but is 2008 going to be the only year for the 1 series or does BMW plan to continue producing them in years to come? I remember seeing a thread about this but I can't be 100% sure. :confused I'd imagine this isn't going to be a one year only production... That wouldn't make much sense. bimmerdriver99 01-13-2008, 02:33 PM :confused I'd imagine this isn't going to be a one year only production... That wouldn't make much sense. Yeah it wouldn't but I forget were the source was but I remember someone on here asking if it would be. The reason why I was wondering is, I'm looking to be getting a new car in about a year from now. Either a used e46 M3 or this is another option. Hmmm brand new 135i twin turbo? or 04 M3. That might be a tough one. yerffejleahcim 01-13-2008, 05:30 PM How much depsoit did you put? bimmerdriver99 01-13-2008, 06:39 PM How much depsoit did you put? There is another thread were the guy said he put $1000 down to get everything rolling. izzodesh 01-13-2008, 10:35 PM got my vin and build date is this wednesday! my 135i will be catching the feb 4th ship! yerffejleahcim 01-14-2008, 02:30 AM Great! Now the wait begins. Dan, congrats on the order. Can't wait to see it at the local events. It should be an awesome car. Need a co-driver sometimes besides Val? :D Whiplash 01-15-2008, 11:39 AM Dan, congrats on the order. Can't wait to see it at the local events. It should be an awesome car. Need a co-driver sometimes besides Val? :D Thanks BJ! My concern is being able to pry her fingers off the wheel long enough for ME to drive it!! This may just be the car that brings her out at the local events (instead of just O'Fest!). You're right though, this should be an awsome car! My only auto-x concern with it is no LSD... In order of priority I see; a Dinan chip, 17x8.5 with 245's all the way around (if they'll fit in front) and limited slip. mikeo 01-15-2008, 12:02 PM Will the 135i be classed in SCCA Solo as A Stock, do you think? HammerDown 01-15-2008, 12:42 PM hi there ... I'm a new guy on the forum considering the new 1 - series ... the 135 to be exact. do you mind telling if you paid window sticker or were you able to negotiate a somewhat better price ? Also, what's the time frame between your order and estimated delivery ? thanking you in advance ... appreciate your reply to Wheelspnr@aol.com Whiplash 01-16-2008, 11:06 AM Will the 135i be classed in SCCA Solo as A Stock, do you think? Popular opinion seems to put it in D Stock right now. In stock form, the skinny front tires are definitely going to hinder it. hi there ... That is freaking unbelievable. Only $38,300... I could afford that on my meager wage even after converting USD to AUD. We're paying a yet-to-be-confirmed $80,000 for the bloody thing. We've put an order in but that's about it. They haven't said anything about production details yet. BJO 01-16-2008, 05:28 PM Thanks BJ! Dan, if you want to test fit 17x9's with wide Yokohama 255/40/17's or 17x9 with Hankook 245/40/17 Rcomps let me know. Surname 01-16-2008, 10:22 PM hi there ... Order early and often.:awink mihalis 01-17-2008, 12:57 AM $38300 and no leather? Wow, so if you price this car fully optioned it will cost well into the $40's? Damn BMW's are expensive! ... But as a previous owner, I will be the first to say, worth every penny!!! :) M0nK3y 01-17-2008, 10:24 PM Yeah it wouldn't but I forget were the source was but I remember someone on here asking if it would be. But as a previous owner, I will be the first to say, worth every penny!!! :) Well, when you think about it, look at all of the other cars on the market. Most of them are going into the high 20's, some even low 30's Its worth every penny once you start up any BMW, put it into 1st gear (manual ftw) and drop the clutch and hear the engine sing.........:redspot Roguls 01-19-2008, 12:43 PM My MSRP was $38300 for 135i, Sparkling Graphite, black leatherette, aluminum trim, 6MT, Sport Package, USB, bluetooth. Great combo. Why not the upgraded stereo? I want the black gloss trim... coupla years away... mikeo 01-19-2008, 03:18 PM I'm not an auto audiophile, so the basic setup is fine with me. There was a book I read in college English class, titled "The One Hundred Dollar Misunderstanding", where the black prostitute tells the white boy "You don't listen to music, you listen at it". That's me all over. curtdragon 02-11-2008, 03:54 AM For all of you that pre ordered how does it work? You go to the dealer and tell them what you want and just wait? Do you fill out all the normal paperwork as you would if you were buying the car on spot or do you just leave a deposit? Thank you in advanced mikeo 02-11-2008, 09:15 AM After price negotiations and when you tell your dealer you intend to buy he'll ask for a deposit, mine was $1000 and refundable. If the dealer has available production allocations you'll be able to start spec'ing out your car for production scheduling right away. If he has no allocation you will go on a wait list until BMW AG sends the next batch of allocations and the dealer gives them out to people on the wait list, hopefully you. |
