Hey everybody, i decided to keep the wheels off of my car, but now i need some replacements. I've gotta mesh factory wheels as a spare that i could use but i would need 2 more. so if anybody has any cheap wheels and tires that will fit e36 and they kinda match, let me know. thanks

Check craigslist. There is 2 sets of Contours in Nashville. One set is going for like 300 bucks with decent tires and appear to be in good condition. I dont think the owner realizes how much the market value is on them.

Also several other factory sets dirt cheap as well. Set of 740 wheels (BBS mesh, 2 inch step lip) for like 250 with huge tires. Hope that helps.

Go see Ed Hunt at German Auto Repair on Lakeview Dr. 706-866-2151 he has plenty of BMW parts cars laying around and seperate wheels as wheel. He probably has something that will work for you.

I talked to Ed earlier today, he wants 150 for 2 of them, i don't wanna spend that much money on something insurace is gonna get.

Scabzz, i need something just to replace my wheels so the insurance can get the car.

i might let them have my contour reps and buy the real ones off the c/l.

Well they aren't ruined. Prob fixable, they shake some at cruising speed..

Tires aren't real good but not completely gone.. I used to have them on my E36.

BTW, they are replicas..

actually they probably would. not like you are trying to get wheels on there that actually are driveable on, they just need to bolt up and the 7 series has the same lug pattern as you do.

Let me get this straight... you don't need pretty wheels or even wheels you like because the insurance company is taking ownership of the car... right? If that's the case, wouldn't generic steel wheels (with or without covers) meet your needs??

what do you mean without covers. I just need something for car to roll on, (the car can't roll cuz it's totalled, but you get the idea). I got some wheels from steve (tn325i), i think i'm set. Have you gotta matching set?

Well, steel wheels typically come with plastic covers, i.e. "hub caps," of some sort.

Yes, I do have a matching set of Style 43's that are waiting for the funds to get them installed. But those don't meet your needs. :D
