View Full Version : Took car to stealership for new sunroof
TJ710 01-09-2008, 05:00 PM I think it all started off by me opening the sunroof when the car was caked with ice, so my bad but the dealer is gonna fix the $2,000 repair for free under my extended warranty. They told me it would be 4 days before they get parts in which leaves me without a car unless I want to drive around with an unsealed sunroof while a snow/cold front moves through. I said no to that but persuaded them to overnight the parts and give me a loaner car. I dont know what its gonna be yet but I am predicting an auto trans. Doesnt matter to me, I'm just excited to drive a different BMW. I'll update when I get back with the car.
CLKeenan 01-09-2008, 05:14 PM Sounds like you got a great deal there
Tacoman 01-09-2008, 06:45 PM Hmmm.... ok.... sounds fun.... you shouold request to drive an M3 for the loaner car. if you ask me (thats what I would do)
TJ710 01-11-2008, 04:00 AM Just wanted to update my original post. After all that excitement about getting a loaner car, the dealership sent me to enterprise and I wound up with a 2007 Ford Taurus. I thought I was getting pw3ned but after a few miles I realized how solid the Taurus. The V6 was weak but overall the car was super comfortable to drive. Im glad I had that experience and I have total respect for the Taurus. Thats all, good night
Gryphon 01-11-2008, 08:29 AM Lol, my stealership once gave me a Chevy Aveo from Enterprise for a loaner...I told the SA "This will never happen again." No more Enterprise for me, now I get dealership loaners.

Why did you want to open the sun roof when it is winter?
Anyways for my loaner car I got a Z4 :cool
nathancarter 01-11-2008, 12:22 PM I got a Maxima for a loaner from Reeves BMW/Enterprise. It was nice, I guess. Very comfortable, a good people-mover and grocery-getter. Driver's seat didn't feel like a cockpit the way the E46 does. It had a 2.5L engine but felt way, way slower than the 325i. I wouldn't buy one.
Wife got a Jeep Commander from Volvo Store/Enterprise. It was terrible... but I'm not an SUV kind of guy. I kept singing the "Canyonero" song from the Simpsons until she told me to shut it.

Because I needed some ventilation and to keep from fogging up. I just tilted it, I didnt open it the whole way.

LOL:
Can you name the truck with four wheel drive,
Smells like a steak, and seats thirty five?
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Well, it goes real slow with the hammer down
It's the country-fried truck endorsed by a clown
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Hey, hey!
Twelve yards long, two lanes wide,
Sixty five tons of American pride!
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Top of the line in utility sports,
Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts!
Canyonero! Canyonero!
She blinds everybody with her super high beams
She's a squirrel-squashin', deer-smackin' drivin' machine
Canyonero! Canyonero! Canyonero!
Whoa, Canyonero! Whoa!

And if you own a Z4 (like me) they refuse to give you another Z4 as a loaner. I tend to get E90s or X3s now. When my E46 was in the shop for 2 days, we had a Z4MC (which was my uncle's demo) and that was the most badass loaner ever.:evil2
