So I've been in the process of swapping my interior with a complete 91 m5 interior (my vehicle is a 90 535i). The only item that is not the same is the glove box, which is a huge issue for me being that it is a light silver gray interior color that I don't think came on anything but the m5.

It has no wood trim on the glove box and basically the latch is what doesn't line up by about an inch. I am currently stuck as to what to do with it and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this or suggestions?

I do also have the dash which I have not swapped over yet, but I don't think that is the issue because the sheet metal under the dash is where it latches. However I could be wrong about this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

your old interior had wood trim right?

You'll need to swap the dash latch bracket from the M5 to the 535 they are different.

Bummer... I was having the same problem and ended up waiting like 6 months for another glove box.

Not sure if it would help for an inch off, but on the dash the little clips are adjustable so that the dash can be adjusted to shut right. I know when I took my glovebox out, it was really tough to get it lined back up correctly.
