A friend of mine has a 1994 BMW 840ci for sale. Some facts: 79,035 miles, garaged for life of car, changed oil every 2000 miles, drives great, white on tan leather interior, non-smoker. The owner is located in Westchester County, NY and is open to all reasonable offers.

Not that I am interested, but I know the next question out of anyone's mouth will be compression figures for each cylinder.

For the V-8, the ONLY way to determine the status or the cylinder walls (Nikasil) is to do a leakdown test. A compression test is worthless. Any cylinder over 15% leakdown is considered BAD!
Even on the V-12 that has been overheated and the bore have gone out-of-round, a compression test will not show poor sealing, leakdown test is the only way to insure the status.
You can get some idea if the engine is shaking a bit or badly, this is the first indication of the cylinder walls failing on a Nikasil engine.
