My car has a servotronic box.

I just wanted to confirm that:

1. The steering box on a CSi is faster lock then the normal servo box on a 97 840Ci.

2. I can swap the CSi block onto my 97 840Ci (which has servotronic) without any customization/fabrication.

Thanks for your help!

I beleive it is plug and play...
Jim and I just happen to have such a box lying around, that came out of the EURO car we stripped this weekend.

Yup, I am *hopefully* buying said box for my 8! :cool Jim and I are exchanging emails as we speak. (type?)

Also, I noticed the CSi boxes have different control modules. I assume it also needs to be swapped at the same time.

Hi, will that fit a 1990 850i?

yes, the connector is there, you just need the steering box and the servotronic module...

Hey guys,I saw this old post regarding the servotronik. I have a problem on my 1997 840Ci (Euro): the servotronic works intermittently, too heavy at times, light as a feather the rest of the time.I've changed the steering pump (other issues with it) and rebuilt the steering box (leak problems), but this didn't solve the problem. What could be the solution, besides rebooting which didn't help, neither did flashing the control unit....? Thanks!!

sounds like a connection problem.
or the servotronic module is going out
