Wondering if anyone has fitted their Z with seat covers? What manufacturer did you use, how well did they fit, and were they worth the money?

I have thought about seatcovers for my Z. I'm getting the leather wear on the bolsters, from getting in and out and wearing jeans. I saw a guy at one of the meets out here and he went to a wetsuit company and found out that they also make seat covers from the same material. I thought the seat covers looked and fit great in his Z8 ( the only Z8 I have ever sat in ). They did not appear to slide. I think he said that they were about $350-$500 depending on which of three different mill thickness choices. For an additional price you can get graphics on the back or headrest.

I don't know how the material will wear though. The guy with the Z8 had them for two years, however he had only put 3k miles on the car. I will see him this weekend at a BMW event in Irvine, Ca. (1-12-08 ). I'll pick his brain a bit and take a photo or two.

I was thinking about putting covers on mine until I decide what to do leather wise on mine. I'm curious if i'd still feel the seat heaters and if the leather would deteriorate worse than it already has.

Great minds think alike.:D

I have used some dye and shoe polish on my seats, it looks goog when done, however the white rub areas come back after a short period of time.

Leather seats suck. I had leatherette seats in my 2.5i, and would've preferred them over the leather seats in my M any day. My driver side seat cover was also prematurely worn when the car only had 2~3k miles. BMWNA just replaced the seat cover recently, but I know very soon it'll look worn and crappy again.
