does anyone have any info on this swap or has someone done it before.i have a 3.0l n52 motor ,gearbox ,and diff that i would like to install into an e36.

Would probably be a wiring nightmare. You're best bet is an S50 or S52. In South Africa, I believe you have the euro-spec motors, which are rated at 286/321BHP respectively. That will be a straight bolt-up, will give you a 6-speed transmission. Plus, it'll be MUCH easier to wire.

its extremly difficult to get my hands on a s54 without giving a arm or a leg for it.I been offered this motor the n52 for almost nothing as there isnt really a market for it,as for the wiring side I was going to use a standalone sytem that runs of a tps and picks signal of the toothed wheel on the crankshaft,has anyone done this before

Not an S54, an S50/S52. The engines that came in the E36 ('94-'99 M3).
