Has any motor been swapped into the car and has a automatic transmissions. Before anybody disses me I have to say I can't drive manual because may knees are really bad.

Yes. I had a couple of non-BMW mechanics do the swap of a '93 325IS 5-speed into a '92 325 automatic. The whole vanos to non-vanos deal was a real education. I carried out the surgery on the '92 wiring harness to tie into the '93 manual harness. The engine now runs great but the tranny has no 1st gear. I'm not sure if the tranny was bad to start with or if my wiring job is flawed.(I bought the car for the sole purpose of putting my engine into it.) My advice to you is to use one from an automatic that matches up perfectly to your car, which probably means getting one from the same year car. It seems that nearly every year the computers are just a little bit different. If you like a challenge though, other swaps are possible, just more complicated. If you are just replacing the auto. tranny, it is even more important to use the same year equipt., otherwise you may have to blend the wiring harnesses. I expect that I will be converting to 5-speed soon unless I can solve the A.T. problem.
