That about says it. I need an attorney who works traffic cases in the Newton Co. probate court and is willing to handle a simple speeding ticket. I was cited for 82/55 on I-20E in Covington by a sheriff's deputy running laser; ideally it could go away entirely but the top priority is to get it pled down to at least 14 over to avoid the insurance hit.

I'm hoping someone here can recommend a lawyer who mainly works in the Covington area. Google brings up a lot of Atlanta and suburban traffic lawyers who claim to work cases in Newton, but I don't want to end up paying someone 2 hours of round trip travel time to drive out from Marietta or wherever only to find out that they don't know the judge/prosecutor and so aren't helpful anyway. Thanks!

They gotcha at the Hazlebrand Road Construction didn't they? One stopped me when I was running ~75, but didn't give me a ticket. I'll ask around since I live in Covington/Newton for someone and then PM you the info.

The Sheriff was actually parked in the gore at the offramp for Alcovy, which I take to go to work. The construction on 20 doesn't start until after that exit, but they have it marked as a 55 limit for ''construction'' for a couple miles back even though there's not one iota of construction or equipment until after the exit. The limit there used to be 70 before they started the construction at Hazelbrand. Thanks for your help!
