View Full Version : E39 Member of the Month
jamesdc4 01-07-2008, 05:47 AM I'd like to propose voting each month for a member who has gone beyond the call of duty to help fellow E39ers solve problems with their vehicles.
Even if it is just for this month, I would like to start by nominating e39dream (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/member.php?u=67763) for the month of Jan. 2008 for his hard work and dedication to this forum and all it stands for.
12CoolDude 01-07-2008, 06:34 AM Yo...gotta pipe in for the Guru of the forum...Qsilver (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/member.php?u=19650). He's a quick draw and almost always has the diagrams to back that s**t up...definitely nominating Qsilver (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/member.php?u=19650).
e39dream 01-07-2008, 09:33 AM <3 Thanks James! Off to work I go.
thetinpusher 01-07-2008, 10:24 AM I would second the nomination of Mark. Thanks for the group buy on the splitters Mark!!!
Definitely QSilver7 (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/member.php?u=19650) and e39dream (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/member.php?u=67763)
2slow4u 01-07-2008, 11:18 AM E39dream for sure.
Qsilver7 01-07-2008, 11:32 AM OH MY GOSH, I'm honored, flattered, and embarrassed :blush2:blush2:blush2
Just think, I skipped over this thread several times this morning and only clicked on it because it rose to back near the top. I don't handle attention very well...so I'll vote for e39dream (my fellow Hoosier on the "WEST SIDE" of the state). :D

VOKS7780 01-07-2008, 11:56 AM Definitely QSilver7 (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/member.php?u=19650) and e39dream (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/member.php?u=67763)

+1 and I vote for myself.
The other two "nominees" are great but I choose myself for being a doosh.
kerryb 01-07-2008, 12:18 PM both guys.. although there are quite a few on this board. Great info..
BSDeeZNutZ 01-07-2008, 12:46 PM +1 on both guys.
What else is needed here is to have someone like umnitza throw in a prize to award to the winner.
Something nice like a predator upgrade or something along those lines.
Just a thought....
MNsport528i 01-07-2008, 12:51 PM +1 for both...
How about a 'mod of the month' or 'DIY of the month' as well?
BMRSEB 01-07-2008, 12:53 PM Definitely QSilver7 (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/member.php?u=19650) and e39dream (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/member.php?u=67763)
My vote!!
Jo@EuroDyne 01-07-2008, 01:21 PM i love all my e39 brothers dearly...not only limited to e39dream and qsilver...but mark inched up with his group buy on the splitters...so my vote is on him.
gumbi4u 01-07-2008, 01:24 PM Who ever wins can have my Titumsilber eyelids. I finally took them off.
brandon5069 01-07-2008, 01:54 PM Eyelids ?!?!?!?!
Omg Omg omg Omg Omg Omg omg!!!!!
I can has?
Orxan4ik 01-07-2008, 04:04 PM Both nominees are great, but there's one thing that separates Qsilver7 - it's his dedication to going back to these manuals and finding an exact solution/answer to the problem/question, so my vote goes to him in this particular case. In general tho, I think there are good 30-40 of us that attend the E39 section everyday and these are the people that make this section of bimmerforums so much more interesting and alive:alright. Keep it up :buttrock
12CoolDude 01-07-2008, 04:09 PM Didn't know I could vote for more than one. Also realized that this should be for 2007 as this month has barely begun so how would we know who qualifies for member of the month before it's over? How about this...most recognized memberS for the year of 2007? I nominate Qsilver, e39dream and jamesdc4 (I'm biased though) who have all added TONS to the forum over the past year. I would like to thank my Bro (see what I mean by "biased"?) for adding his organizational skills to the mix by making the DIY section EXTREMELY user friendly. When I first tried to find DIY info, it was nearly impossible to weed out the garbage but now it's a piece of cake to find the info I need! Of course Qsilver and e39dream always come through with the info ppl need when they are in a pinch so should receive high honors and kudos for their additions to the forum.
Personally, naming just one person seems too limiting. It's not a competition but a RECOGNITION for going above and beyond the call of duty IMO. Thanks to everyone who has tried to be helpful to others here and peace to all...

Hahaha...you beat me to it cause my wife distracted me before I could post but I agree 100% that there are many ppl here who deserve to be recognized for their dedication to this forum! :buttrock
knux11 01-07-2008, 05:28 PM what about a ride of the month? (is there already one of those??) I mean i'm all for this award, even though i don't see how e39dream won't win it every month, but some of us are avid bimmerlovers and bf members who log in often but don't happen to have the ability that some of the more mechanically inclined people do.

kaptom540 01-07-2008, 05:46 PM BRING SEXY BACK- CHIVAS aka DAN !!! HE IS THE MAN! THAT'S MY VOTE!

That's why I said "even if it is just for this month".:)
I do like the "Ride of the Month" idea. The rides are why we are here. Let's run with it, however I think so far, that the clear winner for E39 Member of the Month is ... GUMBI ...:rofl
Seriously, though. It looks like e39dream and Qsilver have to share the title!!!!
Congrats and thanks to you both!
racerx0911 01-07-2008, 06:33 PM e39dream helps me too much to mention...
LBMotoring 01-07-2008, 08:00 PM e39dream helps me too much to mention...
Ditto!
Mark = the man!
Fiziks 01-07-2008, 09:06 PM Most forums have a forum-wide "ride of the month" where in a specific subforum people nominate members, then a mod creates a sticky where a poll decides the winner of the next month; the previous months polls are deleted and then it starts again. In some of the forums these cars then are created into a calendar for the next year.
I just think that the idea of a popularity contest is kinda stupid, and a ride of the month (the forum is about our cars, after all :)) for e39 in specific would only have about one year of cool, good looking 'complete' cars. If we did do a member of the month just for e39's again we would have about 5 good months then we would be nominating people where you say "who is he?". Good idea maybe for bf.c in general, but just not enough people for just the e39 subforum. Granted all of this is just my opinion, take it or leave it. I also realize this probably takes me out of the running, lol :P

this is exactly what i meant, when i was in a mazda forum that's exactly what they did. Oddly enough i won about 3 months after selling that car and coming here :confused But I disagree that there aren't enough e39ers to have an e39 only contest. I'm not interested in any other bimmers right now so a non e39er wouldn't get my vote or my time to look. Or maybe a compromise, lump all 5 series into one vote?? I'd be cool with that. :buttrock:buttrock
525iT_Feen 01-07-2008, 09:53 PM - Andre for selling me the car and ALWAYS helping me when he can.
- Gumbi for being Gumbi and also helping out whenever he can.
- Harry for saving my ass a few times.
- Mark for being the shit when it comes to lending a helping hand and answering questions.
- James for hooking me up with an FSU when I needed it. Free of charge I might add.
- Wagonbagz for being dedicated to his project despite the BS.
- Qsilver for ALWAYS coming through in the clutch with answers to my questions.
- Martin for always helping out where he can and lending a helping hand when in need.
- Dan because we miss him and he is the man.
- Brandon because he also always lends a helping hand when he can.
- LSCman for being one of the most straight forward and tech-savy members we have.
I can literally go on for ever, this is a silly idea if you ask me...This forum is getting way to serious. Not to mention having to start all over again with the e34 section. :dunno This is a very effective forum, I could never nominate just one person.

e39dream 01-07-2008, 10:39 PM guys-
All the thanks I need is to load these pages and see your signatures and your posts and know that there's more to these cars than money and machinery. There's the men and women who drive the e39s, the glue of bimmerforums.
jamesdc4 01-07-2008, 10:40 PM
Okay, I get it! Bad idea.
Mark, if you want to get in one last post, be my guest, but I'm shuttin it down.:)
-closed-
(I do like the "Car of the Month" idea, though.:cool)
Edit- You got it in there a few seconds before i posted :stickoutt .
