Took some time today to do a couple of mods. I ordered some of the pre cut stickers in black from Bimmian and they came out pretty good IMO. Just thought i would share.

They also had all the different sizes for the wheels.....

And the steering wheel...........

Its amazing how a little upgrade like this can change the whole character of the car......overall im very happy with it.:redspot

I also got these......

I am getting rid of the 540 badge and going E39 since i have 540 on the front. It started to get dark but i managed to get the old badge off.

Now my question is does anybody know of a good way to get the glue off without killing the finish??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nice job on the roundels. I did the same exact mod on my Alpine white. Looks very clean.

Use Orange GooGone, Citrus stuff is ok for the finish, if anything it might take off some wax. GooGone is what i used.

Roundels look great!

I bought a full set of roundels that were made with the roundels black and I LOVE them but I've heard these do the trick as well!

where'd you get the e39 badge? BTW I had the stickers and they peeled off after a while, then the replacements peeled off after a while. I hope you have better luck. The second time around I just got the roundels already colored.

How long did you have them on there? The key is to do a nice alcohol rub to clean the surface so they adhere very well.

Probably about a year. Also prepped with alcohol pads.

Well personally I think a year is pretty darn good for a $15 dollar mod that are basically vinyl stickers. Good to know I'll get a year out of them :)

+1 on goo gone for removing sticker res. gotta pick up a bottle to clean the stickers off my windows from PO.
they make some gel stuff i think that will hang on the vertical surface better to let it sit for a few minutes.

I suppose, but personally for me the 60 bucks for replacements is worth the hassle of not having to order new ones and knowing they'll last for a good 10 years.

BTW a hairdryer works wonders for removing the glue. Rub it off with your thumb after heating it for maybe 30 -45 seconds and it peels right off.

Why put hotwheel stickers on your car when you can just replace your rondel with the actual colored versions. I did a post regarding replacing them it was easy and not that much more expensive than putting stickers on your car. :confused

You could Use Hot water and rub hard, it will not take any wax or finish off, worked great for me!

True...definitely get your point. That's why i bought 2 sets which gives me plenty of spares :)

Who knows how long I will keep the car so it's not gonna bother me either way.

Both ways look really hot on the cars so you can't go wrong.

I can totally understand a few points on the Roundels......but honestly i just wanted to try the color before commiting to new Roundels. If they only last 6 months and i still like them then i will go ahead and by the real ones.
I change my mind a lot and might want to go a different direction ie...carbon...gold (to match the wheels) who knows:cool for now this was an easy cheap option and i'm happy with it so far.
Thanks for the input and compliments:D

I debadged my truck a few months ago. First I used a credit card to scrape off as much of the big stuff as possible and then i treated it with googone (this didn't do anything bad to the finish). Googone got all of it off, but there was still an outline. Then I used liquid clay bar (a regular clay bar should be just as good if not better), and then washed and waxed. Looks like there was never a badge!

I have a alpine 99 so I was afraid of that too. The longer you wait, the worse it get. But when I debadged, it left a slight imprint but after I did a full wash, I never noticed it again.

I did the floss technique and I did it on a hot day so the glue just came off after rubbing it.

I found that I could roll most of the glue off with pressure using the heel of my hand. For the rest, a Q-tip and GoGone. A quick clay job finishes up. If it's an older car and there are lots of surface scratches outlining where it was, you may have to use polishing compound or even a very fine (2000 grit) wet sanding first. But, Ive never seen a car where you couldn't remove all traces and shadows of it.

Depends on the ones you get. Ive seen fake ones that look like crap. The ones I bought are actual CF. I will try to take some pics of them when I get home.

In a discussion about sticking some black stickers on the Roundels, you think real carbon fiber looks chesesy? Well, I don't think they look cheesy at all on my car. A hell of a lot better looking than some stickers.

Ebay, $40 front and rear. I skipped the wheels and steering wheel ones, since they were "CF Look" vs these which are real CF. The others were a photo finish and don't have the 3 dimensional look of real CF.

Price is about what I paid ($40 w/ shipping), but those aren't for an E39.

IMO, I've always thought the complete black roundel looks badass. Just a ... different look to it.

Only works on black bimmers though.

AGREED! I couldn't pull that off with the hellrot red look!

Maybe even take it as far to blackout the lights and get some slick black rims. I know there's a Touring on this forum that looks great in all black look. Probably the only Touring I really like, just to be honest. Not a huge fan of the stationwagon feel...Just my opinion.

Stick with all black!

I was impatient on my 325is, and used a razor blade. It worked, but left some annoying light scratches. I got those fixed, though. The credit-card + goo gone + clay bar + wash technique should work well.

I'm tellin ya using a hairdryer + floss is the best way, no damage to anything, and it comes off quick.
