Buy an e38 750............. mudd46738 01-05-2008, 09:28 PM Sorry not an option!!!! JimmyBones 01-05-2008, 10:52 PM Plus the E32 is better.:rolleyes mudd46738, Do you have the performance numbers because if it is under a hundred horse difference you can probably devour the Euro spec with a Dinan engine chip set and a good exhaust. Dinan chips add 45 horsepower and 33 lbs-ft of Torque. shogun 01-05-2008, 11:44 PM Rear diff on US 750 is different from the US and the US 750 of course has a speed limiter, the EU version has a speed limiter at 250 kmh. I have chips for sale for the E32 750 with MOTRONIC -156 for the pre-facelift M70 engine, as well as for the -352 facelift M70 engine. The set comes with 2 MOTRONIC chips and one chip for the EML to eliminate the max speed limiter. Chips are originally designed in Germany and many of the are installed at E32 750 cars of the German 7-Forum members. I do not guarantee any plus HP, but you can get up to 10% more HP, up to 10% more NM, and the max speed limiter will be eliminated. $ 150 per set including shipping by registered EMS airmail to the US. as reference read this from the German board, where I just sold a chip to Switzerland and ask if someone can install the chips for him http://www.7-forum.com/forum/5/chips-750-installieren-fuer-45er-afshin-85572.html They are known in Germany as Rottaler2 chips. Maybe mistyping or mistakes can happen. So just for general info. Pls recheck on realoem. If you want some chips contact me with details on the MOTRONIC , -352 or -156 @JimmyBones Dinan chips add 45 horsepower and 33 lbs-ft of Torque. Always consider about which HP we talk. Dinan is SAE HP, I am talking about German DIN HP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horsepower 45 HP more by Dinan is in my opinion doubtfull. That would be +15% based on 300 HP (if the original engine does have that really). Blue32 01-07-2008, 02:18 AM I thought they were the same. NOOOO! so underpowered in the states shogun 01-07-2008, 02:48 AM Someone has the data for the US version for HP/KW? Here the German/EURO version data: E32 730 with M30B30 straight six engine 188/138 HP/KW V-max. 222 kmh = 138 MPH 735 with M30B35 straight six engine 211/155 HP/KW V-max. 230 kmh =143 MPH 730 with M60B30 V8 engine 218/160 HP/KW V-max 230 kmh = 143 MPH 740 with M60B40 V8 engine 286/210 HP/KW V-max 240 km/h* = 149.1 MPH 750 with M70B50 engine 300/220 HP/KW V-max. 250 km/h* = 155.3 MPH * = speed limiter dophineh 01-07-2008, 03:51 AM NOOOO! so underpowered in the states Are there differences still in modern models? I assumed we where consumers of HP and fastness. I mean I know with Mercedes, they don't even sell their little engines in the states. (Like the E180, or the E240 etc etc), and obviously they didn't sell the e38 728's in the US. shogun 01-07-2008, 09:26 AM I have an E32 750iL Highline, also never sold on the U.S. Quite a number of E38 were not sold in the US, in Germany were: 728i, 728iL, manual or automatic trans 735i, 735iL, manual or auto trans 740i, 740iL, manual or auto trans 750i, 750iL, automatic trans only 725tds 725tds Automatik 730d Automatik 740d Automatik source: BMW AG I assumed we where consumers of HP and fastness. Well, you have a speed limit, so fastness...........:rolleyes That is also why the final drives are different. Adapted to the US style of driving. |
