Update: So I just bought an Alpine CDA 9856 with the ipod cord adapter... I installed it and got all the wiring correct- thanks guys- and now I need some more help finishing up my install..


I need to run two more sets of RCA's but because CC ran RCA's for my subs down the passenger side (which I have heard can cause noise) i cannot just follow what they did... So I need to know how to remove pieces and what to do to run the RCA's. I also have plenty of time to spend on this, so i don't want to take it to my local installer.

Also the Alpine headunit did not come with the cage, but i have a pioneer one that it seems to fit in (a little loose,) any problems with getting this one to work?

I also need to run the Ipod cable into the sunglass holder or the glovebox, whichever one you guys recommend--- how do i do this?

Next i need to install crossovers (passive) for my front stage (2 way for my rainbow components upfront... As you can see in the pictures there are two connectors on the stock amp, which one has all the speaker connecters, can i just cut all the wires? What method should i use to guess and check which wires go to which speakers, and getting polarity right... Also can i mount the crossovers where the stock amp used to be with some velcro or something. I am not looking for a "clean" install I just want my amplifier hooked up and my deck in, this is my parents car and they can deal with it when they want to sell it.

P.s. amp is an Alpine MRP F200 and is installed plus i have an alpine MRP M 450 pushing two alpine type E subs 10's

What i want to get accomplished today is setting up the crossover... So i need your help finding which wires go to the 5.25 and the tweeter in each door

i wonder if the 318 has the same amp setup/wiring as the I-6 E36`s....


if u can wait till tomorrow i can take a pic of the wires...

I also need advice on which pieces to remove to run RCA's down the passenger side, and the i pod cord into the sunglass holder. I know these cars are made out of fisher plastic, i just don't want to go breaking anything

I got the first two 5.25's hooked up to the crossover... Now I just need to locate the wires for the tweeter (my method has been just looking at the color of wires righta t the speaker and then finding thoes at the amp...

I also still need to run RCA's i just need to know how to get to the back area of the headunit what pieces to take off
