Im looking to upgrade the speakers that came in my E30. The rear were some crap Infinity speakers that didnt work so I took them out but now I need to replace them. The fronts are also some crap Infinity's and only the passenger side works. I have a Clarion Headuint that Im going to be using but I dont know what speakers I should use. Im not looking for a competion stereo, just something that sounds GOOD and I can listen to loudly. I listen to classic rock mostly if that helps.

My big thing is that I like to use music as a stress reliever. I like to drive and just listen to the music loud.

What is a good BUDGET way to get what I want and have it sound good?

What stock stereo did it have? Standard or Premium?

A set of good 5.25 components for the front and a good 10" subwoofer firing through ski pass or where perforation for the skipass is. You can get away with using 1 channel amp, 2 channels for front components and other 2channels bridged for a subwoofer. I ran rear speakers of headunit power. Came out nice, my brother is very happy. You are looking at running all new wires.

P.S. A lot of people seem to be very happy with this line of components if you are on the tight budget (not sure if they will fit stock openings and tweeter mount though):

It came with the standard radio. When I bought the car It had a kenwood tape deck in it.

Well then you don't have a component set in the car currently so you can either use some Coax speakers or try to find a tweeter pods from someone selling them. Hopefully they have blown speakers so they will be cheaper :)

Which kind of speakers should I get? A lot of people swear by their Boston Acoustics but Ive never come across them in person. Opinions?

Speaker choice is more of a personal preference. Since you seem to be starting from scratch head to a local store that you can hear some on a sound board. It isn't the ultimate way to hear what they sound like but you will get an idea.
