The red run flat light came on in my Z4 several weeks ago. I never saw a yellow light ... straight to red. I took the car to Goodyear immediately and they found a screw, which they removed and patched the tire. I was told at the dealership that run flats cannot be fixed. Is that a true statement? Also, the Goodyear shop said that they could not reset the light, so its still on. I read several places that the "button" needs to be pressed. Where is this button?

This morning the car will not start. Will not turn over at all, but does appear to be getting juice from the battery as all of the lights come on. Is there any way that having that sensor on past the 200-300 mile limit will cause the car to shut off? Or ... do I have an entirely different problem ...

Thanks everyone - this forum has been a great help to me.

Goodyear can not reset the light... but you can. I do not know what year your car is, and that is highly dependant upon how you reset the light. The instructions should be in your manual. The button is located in the center console in front of the shifter. Should look identical to the button on the dash.

Run Flats can be fixed, but shouldn't because normally when you drive with no air pressure it makes the sidewalls unusable in the future. You mileage may vary.

As for the car not starting ... totally unrelated.

Put your key in the ignition and turn it one click before the car turns over. Then hold the button down until the light goes away. When you get new tires on the car often times the light comes on again in yellow after you've driven for a few miles. Don't worry about it, but do the same things in order to make it go away. Also, check your tire pressure, they probably put the wrong psi in that tire and it should be adjusted to get the most miles out of it.

Thanks Silverbeam. I followed your instructions to reset the Tire Monitor Sensor and now it is off.
