Hello BSW and all, my tweeters are silent. I recently bought a 99 e36 m3 with HK and found the mids to be crackling. I replaced them with BSW mids and I'm happy with that.
I've confirmed with clearer sound now that the tweeters are in fact totally silent. I would just replace them but I found a thread in the archives where it wasn't bad tweeters, it may be the crossovers for the tweeters in the amp. (or something...)

What should I do to test and fix? Thank you!

So at high volumes there is absolutely no sound coming from the tweeters?

Pretty darned sure - zero sound. Certainly no bad crackling. When I set all audio to right front for example, then cover the mid and ignore the one in the footwell, the higher frequencies of the song are deadened, when I release my hand from the mid the high frequencies are back. So even if I am crazy and the tweeters arn't completely silent, they sure are far weaker in the high frequencies than the BSW mids I just put in.

Have you taken the panel back off and confirmed connections?
Or you can swap the tweeters from side to side to see if we have a wiring issue or a tweeter issue.

I had the panels off already and certainly plugged the tweeters back in correctly. They made now sound before or after installing the mids.
I could swap the tweeters but that is quite a bit of work (they are glued to their enclosure as you know). Would that not just switch left right audio signals? Point is nothing is getting to either tweeter.
I could remove one side again, and tap other wires into the tweeter directly with music from a computer, but im not sure how much power they are supposed to get.
At the dealer (for something else) I had the guy look at the connectors at the back of the head unit and he said that all looked fine.
You don't think the amp could have a blown component or something? Seems strange to me too.
