I tried this question in the wheel and tire forum with no luck. I hope someone here can help.
I've got a 2007 Z4 Coupe (Non M) with the sport suspension 18x8 F and 18x8.5 R wheels. I'm considering going to 18x9 all around with offsets in the 38 to 40 range. Rear fit is no problem, fronts would appear to be ok, but I'm not sure. Also, if possible, I would like to run the factory tires until I can afford replacements. For the front, is the 225/40/18 ok to run on a 9 inch wheel?
Thanks

I think 225 will be too small for a 9" wheel.

I would keep the stock wheels and spend the money on better tires. Lose the Continentals and the stagger and run RE-01R's all round, say 245/40/18's.
I run this setup on my '07 MZ4 coupe, and like it a lot.

If you to go staggered with the tire, why not stagger the wheel so you don't have fitment issues?

I was curious about the 9s due to seeing several sets for sale at a resonable price in the used wheel forum. My first choice would be 8.5 front and 9/9.5 in the rear with weights in the 20-24 lbs range. For new that starts getting expensive and hard to find used in good condition. I could even live with a set of the M wheels if I could find a great deal on some.
I have the OEM Bridgestone RFTs on the car now which handle reasonably well but ride like runflats do. Wheels first and then tires.
Thanks for the comments so far.
