Just picked up a 2004 530i and after driving for around 10-15 minutes a noise, which sounds like is coming from the dashboard/speedometer area, starts to kick in....the noise almost sounds like a little cricket chirping every time i hit a bump or the road gets a little rough....has anyone had this problem before, it is driving me crazy....its almost like something is scratching but i cant figure it out

Take it to BMW. I had the same problem and BMW told me there was a recall on a part in the steering column. It fixed the problem.
