Hey guys, just curious if anybody knows if the Compact and standrad E36 firewall is the same contour/shape/measure? I'm just looking into weather or not using a compact heater box in my sedan is possible... As it would appear that the compact uses a cable operated damper system? (that could be wrong too i suppose)

The dimensions are virtually identical, but the heater boxes are different... Like you mentioned, the Ti uses a single-zone, cable operated heater control while the coupes/sedans use an electronic dual zone system. I have seen dual zone systems swapped into compacts, so the dimensions of the boxes must be the same... but I have no idea how you'd get a dual-zone control to work with a single-zone box...

I think your search continues. Or you could swap it in and give us the trip report...

Well the goal is to swap in the cable controls with it. This is for a race car that needs a heater, but I am trying to remove electricals as much as possible.
