Just wondering if this had happened to anybody and what the resolution was-
(Short version of story) Interior of car was removed about 6 months ago and I'm about half-way there in getting all the new bits back in, and all 4 windows have been down the entire time. In testing things the other day, I found that only 3 of the windows would go back up - the stubborn one would move about 1/8" and stop. It cycles back and forth in this position but refuses to go up. Never had any problems before, so I'm a little frustrated at this point in time - any ideas?
(I'm kind of looking for something a little more specific than "could be a mechanical issue" - this window mechanism is NOT one that I'm real familiar with, yet...)

1) Check battery voltage (low voltage causes alot of electrical gremlins to surface).
2) Check window tracks for binding, Lubricate as neccessary.
3) Cycle the windows one by one. Hold the up switch until window starts moving and keep holding for 10-15 seconds after window has fully closed. This is the re-synch.
4) Check the electrical connectors and make sure they are clean and make good contact - use dielectric grease sparingly.
5) If it still doesn't work, drink a few beers..

Maybe that's my problem, I started with number 5...

Reboot the car if it has been sitting with the batteries hooked up. Disconnect the grounds in left rear trunk for 5+ minutes and re-attach. I hate to keep saying this, but it DOES fix 99% of the problems like this. good luck, it probably will fix it!!

Did the trick! Now I just need to finish converting a driver's seat from a '95 to fit in my '91 and we'll be cooking with gas...
(Passenger side was cake-driver's side looks to be a little trickier due to (potential) wiring differences)

..glad to have helped! I believe the only difference in the 2 is the location of the seat heater switch. Post some pics when you get a chance.

That was certainly the case with the passenger side - just had to splice in the heater switch (wires were color-coded the same) and add one pin to the seat electrical connector. In a nice coincedence, it was the only spot on the (newer) connector that was missing a pin. Go figure, every once in a while things actually work out easily and logically.
The driver's side looks a bit different. It might just be a case of wire color-coding being different, but I'm not as optimistic here...
