I got it in May and its been a blast....
Looking to work the front end (shimmy starting to occur)
Work on the seats (yeah...the tabs to swing them forward so midgets can climb into the back are broken and noted that when I raise them only one side rises...think its that cable problem I had read about somewhere...
Oh, and I MUST find a way to replace the console and dash lights ... can hardly see the controls in the dark! Anyone ever replace the stock console lighting?

Nice looking car, One of the rare colors! It's easy to remove the Speedo cluster and change the bulbs, You have to get the correct bulbs from the dealer, They range from 50cents to 150, There's (2) screws if you look up at the top of the speedo cover, They will have to come out along with 2 of them on the speedo itself, carefully lift the light swithces out with a tiny flat driver so no scratching of the switch bodies are damaged, Then unplugging, Just move the steering wheel all the way towards the seat and downwards to make it easier to remove the cluster, Only one plug behind the speedo cluster, The bulbs just half turn to remove, You can get them readily available from Gault Bmw, I'ts the only place i get Oem parts, I'm not sure if the dealer a few miles from me have anything for my 8--------)
Here's a picture of the back of the inst cluster. Notice there are several empty holes for bulbs- this is normal. Four different bulbs are used, notice the color of the backs- green/light green/black/tan. Part#'s are-

Thats cool that you can take the cluster out without taking off the steering wheel off like I have to.:(
Best of luck replacing the lights and being able to see the cluster later.

Thanks for the compliments! When I first saw the car I told the previous owner I would be back in a week to get it period.
Wow you guys are great! I was looking at a potential "Science Project" getting to those lights! Thanks! I will check with Gault if need be... My local BMW dealer had the oil filler cap so maybe there's hope (?).
Hope the coming year is a smooth ride for you all!

Had someone help me with the cluster and console lights on my 94 530. I was surprised at how easy it was. We replaced ALL the bulbs, even the ones that were working. Maybe saved doing it twice, maybe not.
