n00bjabi 12-30-2007, 08:47 PM Isn't the A/C delete removing the compressor and the fittings/lines, plugging everything that has to be plugged and getting a shorter belt to compensate for the new length of the belt?

///w3fl3x 12-31-2007, 04:18 AM Only part that's worth removing to save weight that's hard is the stuff behind the dash for the a/c.
What have you removed? Probably just the condenser?

LOL, I removed EVERYTHING, the condenser, the bracket for the condenser, ALL AC hoses, the cooler, disp, pretty much everything that touches the AC is gone. The only thing sitting in the front of the car is the aluminum radiator, thats it.
Infact, all the plastic surrounding the AC cooler is gone too. I weighed all of it, it came out to almost 110 lbs for everything! (not that it matters, its still a convertible sled!).

I'll post pics of the stuff in question, but more specific, the 4 lines coming out of the left side of the firewall, when looking strait into the engine bay from the front of the car,
do you just plug those?
ILUVe36hAwaii 12-31-2007, 04:43 PM Auto to manual question now, when you attach the harness, does anyone know what plugs are useless on the ODB1 wiring harness regarding the tranny?
I cut the huge electrical plug (cannon plug) as obviously thats for the auto tranny, but what about the two plugs for the tranny? What the hell is the plug on the manual tranny for?
I have 2 plugs on the odb1 harness for the tranny, that look identical for the manual tranny, but only theres only one female plug on the tranny itself????
Flood 12-31-2007, 04:49 PM So you're putting a OBD2 motor in an OBD1 car and doing the 5-spd swap? Is the motor in the car already? Auto trans still attached? Do you have air tools?
ILUVe36hAwaii 12-31-2007, 05:15 PM Everything is already in, no airtools.

ILUVe36hAwaii 01-01-2008, 01:18 AM yeah, bit off a lot, but its a beautiful car, and theres not much left to do.
mitchelrl 01-01-2008, 01:19 AM Flood is worth the money. You should PM him if you want this done right.

pictures would be helpful. Not sure what 'wiring harness' your talking about. The plug on the tranny is your reverse light switch, which needs to be rewired if I remember correctly.
