what's up guys. i have an 87 325 IS (stock) with about 280,000 miles on it and i don't know how much longer it is going to last. And so, i wanted some advice on a good engine for my bimmer. I'm looking to modify it somewhat, but not to much, just to the point where i can feel a significant amount of difference. should i rebuild the m20 engine and modify it, get an m3 engine swap, or are there any other ideas out there that you guys recommend doing? thanks guys i'd really aprecciate it.

S50 or S52 is common and not as involved as some of the other e30 swaps you'll read about in here

Look up the Zionsville guys "Project Orca" M50 into an E30 -- S50/52 would probably be similiar.
