Greetings all. I am testing the waters to sell my cosmo black 2001 540i with Dinan Stage 2 package installed by Champion Motorsports in Pompano Beach, Florida. The body of the car has approx 126,000 miles but the engine has less than 14,000. Last year I hydrolocked the engine and had a brand new BMW engine installed by Ft. Lauderdale BMW which came with a 2 year unlimited mile warranty. The car is fully loaded with 6 speed manual, cold climate package, BMW phone, and navigation. The body is in pretty good shape with a couple door dings and one unfortunate little bump on the passenger side skirt that came from my overly helpful nephew placing the jack in the wrong spot a couple weeks ago when I was replacing the passenger side splash shield. A new clutch was installed when the engine was done as well.

I know that this post is worthless without pictures but I'm trying to get an idea of value. I would think that this car would be a bargain at $18,000. Thoughts?

Sounds like a smokin' deal. I always feel like it's harder to sell a car that has a replacement engine...Just don't think you'll get the same money for it that you'd get for a 2001 with 14k miles...or even 50k miles. Sweet car though. You have pictures?

I'll put pictures up this weekend. The good thing about the replacement engine is it is a brand new BMW block installed by BMW with BMW warranty. That has to count for something to a private party. Dealers obviously don't care.

Pictures would be the driver. In addition, BMWs are worth what the buyer is willing to pay. So make it worth the sale, and the right person will come your way.
