K guys im trying to mount and wire tensioners/buckles on my m3 seats for the airbag system because one of the PO's cut the wiring off the seatbelt buckle... for whatever reason I do not know. Here is the situation: I looked on realoem and matched the VIN of the car the new tensioners came off (97' m3) and my car (96' 328i). I was informed after 96 they began to use pyrotechnic tensioners instead of mechanical ones. They part numbers matched so I figured I would not have a problem, I have vaders in the 328 so mounting should not be a problem. Wiring however I am having trouble with... there are TWO wires that come off the buckle/tensioner itself, one plugs into the harness coming out of the floor in the car... and I do not know where the other is supposed to go.. can anyone help me out.. I will include pictures when my camera battery is charged but I think I have explained my problem fairly clear.

The plug circled in BLUE is the one that goes into the wiring harness coming out of the floor, the one circled in RED I do not know where it goes...

If the pictured buckle came out of a newer vehicle, and the newer buckle has a feature that the older one didn't have, there may not be anywhere to plug it into.

97's had passenger seat mat sensors.

Hm my passenger side vader does have one of those... but it already has wires plugged in to it... however my driver side does not... should the car not automatically assume there is a driver?

Yeah I just installed the passenger side.. one wire was left unplugged because there is no place to put it, there is a black box underneath the seat that already has a wire plugged into it from the floor harness ( I assume this may be a mat sensor?)....

that is the relay box for the mat sensor. ^^
