I found a deal to get a good condition '92 735i with a bad tranny. He says it won't go into reverse, but he has a good working replacement tranny in the trunk. Can you guys maybe estimate what the install would cost and possibly a good shop to do it for a good price??

P.S.- Sorry if I've been asking a lot of questions like this lately, but as I said before, I have a good friend who's mind is totally set on bimmers and she's got a pretty insignificant budget. I want her to be happy.

The cost would probably be too much to make the car worth it. What I'd do in that case is buy a manual tranny and convert the car to manual... but that's a considerable amount of work, so it would only be a good idea if you're looking for a project.

I remember that thread.. hmm.. I'd say no just because tranny problems are usually costly and require more money than you originally thought.

Thank you very much. He showed me pictures of the car and it's a POS. It's missing the back seat too. What can I expect from a $500 7 series BMW....lol.....
