Merry Christmas to all:

Still more questions:

On the original window sticker of the 2003, 2.5, under OPTIONS, I see:

Maldives Blue : $475

1...... Does this mean that this color was an extra charge ?? Seems to me that all cars come with paint, correct?

Also under OPTIONS: "PREMIUM PACKAGE" including, power soft top, power seats, cruise control, "BRUSHED ALUMINUM TRIM" and "LEATHER upholstery".

The standard equipment on this model plainly says: "Beige Leather."

2....... Does this mean that the Premium package includes more leather than standard?

3......... And............. if this model did not come with "Brushed Aluminum as standard, then what dash trim did the "standard model" come with?

I used to be a blonde until my hair fell out, so please understand that I am confused.

Many thanks in advance. "Bo"

Metalic paint is an extra charge, maldives blue is metalic, hense the charge. I don't know about the leather because it wasn't standard, it was an option, so that is odd.

Not sure what the standard trim is, but I believe its only between wood and brushed aluminum. So I dont think there is a non-option trim, my car has brushed so I dont know for sure. Also I wouldn't worry too much about what it says on the sticker, as long as it's on the car. The premium package has leather seats included. Under ____ leather should say "included" rather then list a price. And ya metallic paint is extra, my black sapphire emtallic was 475$

My '03 2.5 does not have leather. It does, however have some other options that don't make sense (because it doesn't have leather??) It has the brushed alum., power top, cruise, 6 disc changer between the seats and mine is also black sapphire met.

hummmm???

All of the options are available individually, not just in packages. My 2003 2.5i has almost all of the options in the premium package, but it doesn't have it - the original owner just ordered it that way. Also, BMW frequently has "no charge" options, where something you'd ordinarily get with the car is listed as if it's an option. On the Z4 line, the dash trim is like that. There's no default trim that would have come on the car - someone had to decide to get something - but there's no charge for whichever you choose.

6 disc changer is a separate, dealer added option. Power top and cruise is part of convenience package. You don't get leather unless it came with leather or if you have premium package.

Yup, same here. I have all the features of premium, except for power seats.

Oh I think I get it, when you add premium package leather autmotically is included, so it would override the standard leatherette, which may account for why it is listed that way.

Bo, when you get enough posts to do so (only five more) could you please post up pictures of your tan interior with aluminum trim? I want to see what the looks like.

Power top and cruise are part of the premium package, not convience package. Cruise and leather are also a stand alone option on 2.5i...

Really? If it was so I stand corrected. My 2003 Z4 3.0i with SMG came with sports and convenience package, not premium, and it had power top and cruise. Maybe power top is part of both convenience and premium package, and cruise was standard on the 3.0?

I was certain our Z4 didn't have premium because it didn't have auto-dimming mirrors.
