Looks like Yokohama is coming back to the sport with the recent import of a soft compound version of its Advan A032R DOT competition tire. The new tire will be designated "S" (soft) compound and the previous A032R tire will continue to offered with an "H" (hard) compound designation. Supposedly the appropriate diameters/sizes will be made available in time to make the SCCA April 30 deadline, to be sold through The TireRack. I'd assume the tire will come full tread depth with the usual shaving & heat cycling services available from The TireRack. Initially looks like they'll be offered in select sizes for 13",14", 15", and 17" diameters.
I emailed yokohama about these tires and they told me that they were stated to come out in june or july. This was at least 2 months ago.
They're on Tire Rack's website already (though I don't know if that means they're available yet.) Funny this topic popped up - I was just about to post to see if anyone had any experience with the soft compound.

LOL - No way I would pay that much for a set of tires that might last 3 months.
