View Full Version : "Chirping" in Roll-Bar Covers?

When my top is down and I'm driving, I get an incessant "bird chirping" noise that seems to come from the plastic covers on the passenger side roll-bar.

Conversely, when I'm riding in the passenger seat (yes, it happened.....I was compelled to let my brother in law from Chicago drive fast with the top down to maintain family serenity for the holidays, so I was nervously riding in my own passenger seat) the same annoying "bird-chirping" seems to come from the driver's side covers. In summary, whichever side you sit on, the noise seems to come from the other.

Grabbing the covers and holding them strongly in an attempt to quiet them seems to have no effect.

Has anyone else run into this???

Is there a fix?

Thanks in advance for any input....:banghead:

Darn those birds:). Maybe if you stop feeding them. Good Luck. Merry Christmas.

Mine does this on occasion also. I thought maybe it was the seats since I could not verify that is was the roll bars. It is hard to pin point, because as you said, it sounds like it is coming from the others side when you sit in the passenger seat.

Mine chirped, too. Turned out to be the storage compartment door. I stacked two small adhesive-backed felt dots together and stuck them on the back of the door where they'd contact the door frame to keep the door from wiggling. No more chirping.

mine started chirping after the top was replaced.

It's definetly coming from the top itself and i can't figure out how to fix it.
