So I was coming back from a relatives house tonight and we took a semi-short cut and it took us down the side of mountain highway 64 coming from highlands, NC to Franklin, NC. I was just cruising along taking my time getting down the mountian as there are alot of cops out. When a car comes screaming up behind me. I looked in the rear view and could tell form the headlights that it was a E46, at this point dont know that it is a M3. So I put my foot in to it and tried to lose him, well to no avail I. could not shake him and I was driving at my limit coming down this mountain on very windy roads and its dark out. We finally get to a semi straight stretch in the road and he passed me like I was stopped. I tried to just keep up with him but before I knew it he was 5 turns ahead of me. When he went by me I relized it was a E46 M3 and of course in my 91 325i with H&R/Bilstein and of course the M20 motor was no match for this German masterpiece. I got killed by a 2002 M3!!!!!!:buttrock

Admirable try! Yes, I love my car. It pulls ridiculously hard (though it is slightly modded), but the E30 is also a worthy car in many respects. I've had two of them myself, and nothing beats the rawness one obtains with those cars. One day, I will have an E30 M3 to call my own.

I forgot to say I have a 4:10 rear end, car was originally an automatic. Its pretty torquey

Ive always wanted to see for myself how much quicker an E46 M3 is than my E90 (I know it's a lot faster but it's one of the many cars I'd just like to race for fun) unfortunately the only time an E46 M3 has lined up with me was when I was in my 318is hahaha. I was with these two girls who always joke around about racing so I gunned it and was like oh shit I'm pulling and then the M3 had enough and flew past. I think it had exhaust too actually sounded so mean.
