so i took my cousin to gas. on the way back i saw this neon (stick shift)driving kinda hard. he slowed down a little, so i did a little ricer fly by and caught a red light. he caught me at the light. when the light turned green we went for it. he kept up with me in first and half of second, by third i was pulling way hard. i shut down at about 90, witch was good because i stopped in a left turning lane behind a cop.

my girl drives a 04 neon sxt. (how sad of her. :( ) i mean it can keep up with traffic. I have to be really careful to not say anything bad about it when im with her. she always complains " you never say anything nice about my car"

its no fun if you try to floor those things at a certain speed/rpm it goes no where. you have to be WOT from the get go in order to speed up.

actually a 95-99 neon dohc manuals aren`t that bad...

150hp stock in a 2400lbs car, being a very well designed car :rolleyes, with only a few modifications (CAI/computer), will help alot and will get you with a good driver to hi 14`s on the 1/4 which is respectable, with the ACR and the shorter gearing for the 5th gear it gets up to 135+mph prety easely.

Oh yeah, I'll bet it's a bad *ss NEON. I'll keep a close eye on my rearview mirror...

I had some neon in Chicago play with me one night back when I had my E28 535i w/3.73 rear diff. I have no idea what was done to this car, but it was loud, and it was quick. It said Neon R/T on it. I was doing ~80 on the highway, and as I'm passing him, he drops it a gear and gets back next to me. I drop it to 3rd and blip the throttle at him and he jumps, I didn't realize he actually wanted to race till he got about 2 car lengths ahead of me. By 90 he wasn't pulling anymore. At 100 I was reeling him in. 110 I was starting past his rear bumper. 120 my front doors were past his. By 140 I was well ahead of him. This car should NOT have kept up with me as well as he did. I followed him off at his exit to ask wtf was don to his car, haha, all the guy says is 'I cut the muffler off' in a thick Russian accent, then takes off :sigh

the r/t is slower then the base model neon, cause it has all the options and it weighs more....seriously I don`t really care about neons anymore, but I really enjoyed mine while I had it, suprised a couple of people and loved the agility of the car
