Ok first off your stock fuel pump should be more than adequate to supply your S52.

Second off, the M3 unit is same just the connectors are different for sending unit top for power and what not. You can use the M3 unit just trim the connector fittings.

So unless the unit in your car now is going out, the Walbro isnt needed. I think the stock unit puts out 4 or 5 bar max, but someone else can chime in with Bentley specs.

ya, my fuel pump crapped out. So you're saying that I can use either or and it would be fine I just may have to modify the connector for a six cylinder? Where can i find these? I have looked everywhere and can't find a kit for e36 model years

A stock fuel pump is fine.

You can use any e36 fuel pump for all the stock engines whether its a 4banger or 6pot. The only time the pump needs to be upgraded if for FI.

Get a junk yard unit. I believe the Ti has a green top sending unit and the M3 or 328/325 has a blue unit? Cant remember.

Either way, you'll see they look almost identical. But once you get in there, you'll see the connector shapes are flip flopped. When I say connectors, i mean the molex connectors that plug into the top of the sending unit. Fuel pumps and assemblies are expensive so just buy one used. Should be able to get one from BMA or Bavarian Recycling for a decent price.

I've got two swapped tis (M50 & S52) both using the stock ti fuel pump without an issue.
