My e39 530d (Auto) seems to stop accelerating after hitting 80mph, what could possibly be wrong.

Is my turbo on its way out (it accelerates fine below this speed), is it my electronics on the speed limiter (occasionally I can accelerate past 80mph), or is it that my throttle sticks (but I can step down the gears at this speed through the accelerator).

Help please.
